The usual thread for the start of the year, time to post your goals for the upcoming year, and what did you achieve in the last year.

This is to help motivate others and to get ideas of what you may want to achieve in the year ahead.

For a change though, I'd like to keep this thread updated, so if you achieve a goal then post and update us all, and at the end of the year this thread can be used to help in the Gym Rats awards thread. And there may even be a new award if it's an active thread

So I'll start:

2015 Achievements
1 - Lost 2 stone

And unfortunately that's it for me. Had a poor year gym wise, I feel like I coasted for most of it then stopped going all together towards the last quarter. Mostly just motivation problems but I hope to have fixed those now

2016 Goals
1 - Hit 550kg total (current PB is 525kg)
2 - Hit 10-12% bodyfat and maintain

Number 1 is a big jump, but I know I can easily do 5-10kg on my bench, and my deadlift has always been a case of I can do a lot more but form has meant I've not wanted to risk it. If i can fix my form then I know I've got 220-230 in there no problem

2015 Achievements
Hit the 300kg deadlift milestone :)

2016 Goals

Qualify for IPF Worlds in Killeen Texas.
800 total - Need 30kg from my squat, 20 from my dead and 17.5 from my bench to hit my individual lift goals.

2015 achievements:

Hit 250kg deadlift
Break 200kg squat

2016 goals

Get my squat back
Improve mobility further
Break 250kg deadlift
Maybe compete
Break 630kg total
Maybe throw BF out of the window and just get strong again.

To just keep adding weight to each workout each week, lose a little fat and just keep getting stronger :)

Also need to keep a little cardio in the mix too.

2015 Achievements
• Started to train again - I've had a huge hiatus and 2014/15 on a whole was filled with unhappiness and comfort eating. In Aug I decided to shed the weight of my fiancée and started back training in Nov.
• From Nov to just before Christmas I'd lost around 10kg/23lbs.
• Christmas only set me back 1kg/2lbs! :p

2016 Goals
• Reach my initial goal of 60kg - I've set myself 5 milestones along the way & once each one is achieved I'll reward myself with something small.

Hopefully by this time next year my focus can be on strength and not weight-loss, but one thing at a time! :)

2015 achievements
Ran two half marathons - improved significantly from first to second.
Reached 50 Parkruns.

2016 goals
First half of the year will be focusing on a third half marathon in March and first marathon in May.
Second half of the year hopefully back to doing some regular weightlifting and see if I can't set some new PBs.
Keeping up regular Parkruns as often as possible.

2015 achievements
150kg deadlift

And not much else. I did add 10kg to my bench PB but it's still tiny! Reached my 3k miles cycling target

2016 goals
Squat 120 for reps / 145 for 1 (for 2*BW)
Do an Everesting ride (ie climb 29029 ft in a single day, doing it on the second May Bank Holiday

2016 Goals
200kg deadlift for 3x3
140kg squat for reps
100kg bench press for reps
One-handed handstand
Get some good progression with back/front lever and the human flag.

2015

I started training properly in June and didn't ease the pressure for a single week. Lost a ton of body fat and gained muscle, or regained lost muscle I should say.

2016

Continue like 2015. I'm also aiming for 5kg of muscle

from birth to 2015
I've become morbidly obese and not really took it in before, don't know how much I weigh as don't have scales but the photos are horrible but I do know that I'm 5'7" with a 46" belly right now...

2016 Goals
Going to work on myself and feel and look healthier and if i can fit into 38" jeans i will be very happy as i'd be out of the 40's that i've been in for so long now!

I'm just hoping for some consistent, injury free, lifting. My goals for now is to get back on track, eat a lot and lift a lot. Not fussed about the numbers as long as they're higher than last year:

Squat: 140kg+
Bench: 85kg+
Deadlift 155kg+

2015

Started going to the gym in July.
Lost 1.5 stone without taking my diet too seriously.
Greater level of fitness (difficult to quantify).

2016

Cut to 180 lbs by 1st May.
Put on a decent amount of muscle thereafter.
Above all else diet consistency :)

Reach a decent BF% for summer, keep it at that.

I've lost interest in the gym the past month, I really want to keep going with strength training but I'm tempted to just do some hypertrophy when at work and save my days off for me.

I still want my peebs back by summer;

195 dead
160 squat
110 bench

Had these in mind for a while now:

2015 Goals
200kg Bench (failed)
300kg Deadlift (failed)
Get to 19st (achieved)
I know! What a winner eh!

2016 Goals
210 Bench
260 Squat
320 Deadlift
20st
21"+ arms
57" chest

Everything is going to be more brutal from now on I have decided (CT Mode) that I will be more obsessive (/CT Mode).

Good Luck with everyones goals

Train consistently.

Last year lots of things got in the way of my training so I was missing 2/3 weeks at a time throughout the year.

Despite that my first gym year was reasonably successful having spent 12 years sat behind a desk getting to the stage of squatting more than bodyweight and dead lifting consistently over 100kg its a good start this time last year I was 7kg (82kg) heavier squatting only 65kg even after a 3 week break cause of xmas travelling ive jumped straight in at bodyweight squats (75kg) and I expect to be back up to 90kg in a couple of weeks.

Determined to try to make the most of this year would like to get down 5% bf to 14/15 but without to much expense to lifts and bodyweight, im happy at around 75 kg but that means ive got to put on around 4kg of muscle while cutting that same amount of fat.

In terms of lifts break the ideal weights on 2 x bw dead 1.5 x bw squat and 1 x bw bench for reps no 1rm lifts hopefully all simple goals as long as I put the effort in
