At that stage now where I keep searching through TV listings looking for any bit of obscure football that is on just for a fix. So I decided to start this summer's pre-season thread. Everyone feel free to post your clubs fixtures.

The mighty Liverpool are currently beating Tranmere 2-0 at HT in their first friendly.

First things first for fellow gooners. Our first pre season and the debut of our new record signing Lacazette is on tomorrow at 11am.

Sadly only on subscription channel Premier Sports.

That's about the number of games we usually play (we played a few less last year, partly because of the City game being cancelled) We've taken some youngsters we want to try out so it will be useful having more games to see how they fit in.

Looked good today. Do think he'll score plenty of goals. Looks very clinical when it matters.

Nelson looks very good indeed as does Bramall. Bodes well for the future.

Caught the highlights from our game against RSL and we looked ok. Good in places. We still look like a team that doesn't turn the screw when we are on top though. We go ahead and then we switch off rather than compounding our advantage. Hopefully as the pre-season continues we will see more of our final XI and where we actually are. Good to see Lukaku getting on the score sheet though and Mkhitaryan scored a great goal.

Yep, a couple of good goals but not the best game. Lukaku took his goal well and it's always good for a striker to get off the mark even in pre-season.

The City and Real Madrid games at the weekend should be more interesting.

Yeah, some people are saying thats a clear red but it looks like an easy yellow to me. People were saying he could have broken his leg which is ridiculous.

It depends how the ref saw the challenge. Clearly it wasn't a dangerous challenge and I assume he wasn't sent off for serious foul play however it's possible that the ref's decided that Valencia wasn't making a genuine tackle and saw it as violent conduct. I'm pretty sure Rooney got a red in similar circumstances the other year when Downing was breaking clear and Rooney wanted to trip him to stop the attack but he done it in such a stupid, ott way, that the ref sent him off for violent conduct instead of booking him for a cynical foul.

Not specific to this but I'd like to see more reds for challenges like this. You regularly see players take needless hacks at opposition players when they're clearly not going for the ball but get away with a yellow. You then see players tap someone on the cheek or brush foreheads and it's a red. I'm not sure how the latter is considered more violent than the former.

He's just booted the back of the player with no attempt on the ball, not really given as a red much but lol @ 'power trip'

Pathetic play for a friendly too

He took ages to make a decision, a red for that would be a joke in a competitive game. In a friendly? The ref is either incompetent or looking for attention.

Took a while because as it was a friendly the Ref offered Jose the chance to sub Valencia or he'd be sent off. Jose refused the offer and the ref did what he said he'd do.
