See we still don't practice the art of defending in training :o

VVD and Gomez well off the pace, they need a lot of matches between now and the start of the season.

Yeah, obviously rusty as hell given the time out they've both had.

Konate's looked ok and Matip's 'currently' fit so we could see one of them partner VVD or Gomez or even both start against Norwich.

I thought we played pretty well on the whole and probably should have won by a couple of goals. We were a bit open defensively but that was far more to do with a completely unbalanced midfield and or playing kids in midfield than anything else.

Keita looked really good again, which is frustrating because you know he'll pick up a knock next week and be out for 2 months. Gordon too was really impressive again. He's clearly got bags of talent but what's really impressed me is the tactical side of his game. So many wide attackers are passengers for large parts of the game, just waiting for the ball to come there way but he's so proactive in his game, dropping deep to get involved and most impressively his diagonal runs into the penalty area looking to score.
