2023 Personal Review and 2024 Goals

Well, this didn't age well! Am currently hovering back around 92kg but have spent the past few months leaning out slowly. I have even bought a pair of running shoes...

Strength is in the toilet for everything but pressing it seems, but slowly edging back into the 1.* BW for squats and deadlifts...
Thats pretty much how my strength has gone over this year. Have to make my sessions fast in between work meetings. Only positive thing is that I'm actually starting to lose some weight and not look like the guy who ate the beached whale. :D

I'm looking forward to having my house built. My office and home gym are in the same room. Hoping i can leverage that to some good consistency :D

2023:
Running target: 1000KM, managed 946KM.
Weight target: 72KG - 75KG, average for the year 74.1KG.
V02 Max: Target 53, average 50

2024:
Running target 780KM, so far 33.92KM
Weight target: 72KG - 75KG. average so far: 73.3KG
V02 Max: Target 53, average so far: 51
I'd like to pick up climbing again, I got into it and then life got in the way but keen start going again especially as an indoor place has opened near by.

I switched from Fitbit to Apple in September but up until then I was at 451KM running wise, so think I'll be shy of the target on New Years day.
Weight has been a little up as I've been working on strength training so about 74kg today.
For whatever reason my Apple watch isn't showing my Vo2 saying it needs more sessions recorded :-/
Overall a reasonable effort this year, but hoping for better next year.

2023 saw massive progress in my shape - dropped to a 34” waist and came into a normal BMI which I’m very proud of. After aggravating my back in the summer I took on swimming and have achieved a mile swim non stop which I’m pretty pleased with. Cycling has dropped off which is a real shame as the weight reduction should make that much more enjoyable. I’ve been cycling to work as usual but that’s not huge distances. Energy levels and general fitness seem improved.

2024 I want to get back on to Noom and get leaner. I’ll plan to keep exercising as much as possible, but diet is going to be the mainstay of this.

Good luck everyone!

Got back on Noom the tail end of the year with a bit more consistency and it paid off. Finishing the year just a shade below 88 kg which is where I want to be. Cycling has improved with spin classes and Wattbike sessions which is great to see. Being leaner, maybe? Not hugely so, but haven’t taken any major backward steps here.

Good luck in 2025!
