2080ti cards failing ?

Nvidia needed to sell surplus 10 series stock, they are going the right way about it in the cut throat world of business even though the 2080 series was an unscrupulous release, it seems to be working for them to clear last gen stock.

No one in their right mind would buy into 2080 gen now. The only positive thing is 2080 has bought down prices in the used sector and 1080ti can be had for as little as £400

If a Don reads this perhaps they could close this thread as it serves no real purpose, faulty cards should be discussed in the owners thread by owners.

So now we have the " if you don't own a 2080 series card" police out in force?

I started this thread to make people aware of the possible issues...Many people will find it useful if about to buy one.

Saying that issues should only be discussed if you actually own one is ludicrous bordering on insanity.

You could have made the comment then left it at that but you and a few others seem to be taking pleasure in other peoples misfortune.

No I haven't...

Link? ( in this thread)

And again Just because I don't have one doesn't not mean the release is not up to critique.

Just stay in your 2080 ti owners thread with the other 34 members...

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up.

We've just had 18x 2080 Ti FE's free issued by one of our customers, I was oblivious to the fact we were even using them in anything, but I have let the lead project engineer know about the potential failures and advised extended testing before signing off the systems for release back to the customer. The build are being processed this week, so I'll update if we see any failures.

It's highly disappointing to see this sort of QC/QA issue, but it is one of those things that sometimes happens. I do feel bad for the individual users who pay substantial sums of money for these cards, and might be left without a system for a while, hopefully Nvidia can sort them out quickly. :(

The fins are moulded to it, but it looks like there is no airflow across the surface of the card itself.

This guy took one apart, looks pretty ridiculous actually. Around 50 screws to remove the cooler lol

No wonder they are so expensive, most of the money probably went in to screwing it together...

He couldn’t remove the fan plate :p

My 2080 Ti is DOA - I get a flash of a display at POST for a split second then the signal to the display port seems to terminate / fail and the monitor screen goes black / into power save mode and says no signal detected. My system throws up a bunch of ASUS Q-Codes on the motherboard LED and either hangs or reboots with different Q-Codes...

Am so mad right now. Gonna try to get some sleep and put my old card back in tomorrow.

Draining my loop and cutting new tubes (soft) is a hassle.

Do I call Nvidia and ask about whether or not I voided my warranty by installing a Waterblock, or just put the Nvidia Heatsink assembly back on and say nothing to them other than I want a refund?

BTW I've been watercooling systems for years and never had this happen to me before, I'm quite happy I didn't nuke the card at any stage.

Brilliant, just brilliant...

Did you not test the card with stock cooler first ?
