2080Ti Choice

which card did you get ?

hopefull within 14 days so straight swap . If past 14 days and asus then ocuk might do the Asus Gold partner RMA

Asus Strix Rog OC one, happy with the cooler + noise etc but obviously the instability is a pain.. luckily decided to keep my 1080 as a spare for now.

I bought the EVGA XC Ultra - absolutely silent and (so far) no issues.

I also paid €50 to extend the warranty to 10 years - I've had EVGA products before and claimed on their warranty with zero fuss - enough times to more than cover the extra expense.

It's a nice feeling to know my PSU & GPU are covered for the next decade.

I spent ages last night trying to get it solid - so far it only crashes in games not stress tests or benchmarks. I put my 1080 back in and issues went away.

Went back to the 2080ti and installed an older driver - 417.71 and so far, touch wood, it's been stable. I am concerned however that a driver could have been causing my bluescreens / crashes - the product should be past this stage now driver wise surely!.

Have told overclockers in the customer services forum that I will report back tomorrow.

I need some advise really what would you guys do? This has been a pain in the ass, I've tried loads, PC is in bits from changing cards + watercooler out from the 1080, removed overclock, updated bios, all sorts.

Thanks,

Alex

Sounds like an RMA to be honest, if you have eliminated every other possibility. Drivers can sometimes cause instability, but as you said, it should be past that point by now.

I'll test more tonight, if stable on 417.71 then I can live with it I guess but i'm concerned it may cause me issues down the line.

The next issue is if I have to RMA, do I stick with the same card and hope it's ok? Or go with a different brand.

Thanks

Even if I can get it stable on the older driver?

going to stay on the older driver when new ones are released for newer games? thats the kicker - if no other strix owners having problems with current drivers , its worth some thoughts .

least if RMA, ocuk would test it etc, see if they have same issues

They all seem to be breaking. Send it back. Don't buy. Boycott these ridiculous prices. If no one bought the prices will come down. Only things worth buying at moment are some AMD cards right now. Nvidia have only really released one new improved card at a ludicrous price. The rest are rebranded cards at the same or greater price. Utter Joke!

Food for thought, what a nightmare. Rolling back to my 1080 was painful in Division 2 after getting used to the 2080ti...

I will test more tonight then make a decision - there is also a chance it was G-Sync, I think it was set to fullscreen only with the driver I installed and I was running windowed.

Obviously if it is g-sync related it needs to go back too.

I think i'm clinging onto some hope that I can get it sorted

**Update

I have spent countless hours trying everything to try and sort, bluescreens and crashes remain.

Have kicked off RMA for replacement.

If it isn't too late, get your money back.

The 20** series all seem to be ticking time bombs, just a question of when they go BOOM!

Why did I know you were going to RMA it before even seeing this thread? It's scary how many 2080 Ti's are going pop. I've seen some crazy good deals on them, however they're dodgy deals, also a lot of refurbs, and other good deals are bad warranty, the risk is too high.

I like the look of the Gigabyte Aorus one, worried about noise though. The others i'd picked mainly due to the noise levels, it seems my G12 won't fit straight on so will probably leave the stock setup on and want it as quiet as possible.

Don't, it's a POS.

Edit: The 2080ti's are trash, as you're finding out, save some money and buy something else.
