2142 Patch 1.51 - 17/09/2010

Loved this game but I got fed up of people c4 bunny hopping and went back to bf2.

I love BF2 and 2142 but I won't go back if I can help it - This game is as bad as WoW for addiction!

Ninja Edit: Just saw that Karkand 2142 is out. Now this I must at least try.
 
Just had a go at the 64 player strike at karkand :{ , superb stuff.

Really dont undestand how any would prefer bc2 over this. Once the novelty of the destruction 2.0 wears off, the gameplay isn't anywhere near good enough compared to the old school Battlefield.

Agree, how people thing BC2 is a better game is beyond me. i can only think its a fanboy thing. Yeah, the graphics may be a bit prettier but depth?? Wheres the depth on BC2??

BF2 & 2142 - teamwork, thought and then overcome. Beats - ZOMG pistol rapes allcomers!!

Anyway, come play and enjoy the new maps & free NS maps :)

i believe the patch will be put on the steam version once it passes public beta so next couple of weeks :)
 
Well ,who cares about the numpties who prefer bc2 magicoi :D

You still need to add the +widescreen 1 at the end of the shortcut.exe to get the higher resolutions.
 
I never got around to playing 2142, but this will make me pick it up.

Is there still a fairly decent online community? Because that's all that matters to me to be honest.

Ahhh...I almost forgot that. I was wondering why I couldn't bump it up.
 
Hmmm, getting bf2142.exe has stopped working errors unless I run as admin, and then when I try to activate the custom game mode it restarts and gives me a c++ runtime error. Rose tinted spectacles made me forget how buggy the game can be :P

You can use the search filter to select if the server has autobalance.

On another note though, I played this again today after 3 years and is still certainly a fun game, took some getting used to the way weapons handle.
 
Quick Necro (lol 3 1/2 months....)

Anybody around here still play this game. Used to play it loads a few years ago (before WoW consumed my gaming). Loved it. Wondering if anyone could share some light on how many people are still playing on a day to day basis and is it enough to warrant a reinstall, modern war games are getting on my nerves with their repetition. Its all the same.

Thought this game was a great gem when it came out, when modern day shooters werent flooding the market and were still quite new compared to the overgrown ww2 settings. It seemed to be a novelty to most people as bf2 was still isanely popular.
 
used to love this game...put countless hours into it! :D

fav maps were infantry based ones Gibraltar, cerbere landing, verdun, tunis, :D good times :D Loved breaking throufg the chokepoints on gibraltar, rocketing onto the roofs of the buildings, knifing and defib kills just never never get old ;)

finally outgrew it i guess.

Best online fps shooter since the old days
