as you can see in my thread what ive got,now will the 24" be to much for my 8800gts,or will it be ok or should i just go for the 22" to be sure cheers for any advice

Get the 24" dell the 22" range is such a lottery
i can't see it being a problem at the mo but by the time you need an
8800 gtx to max a game at it's native res the gtx will be surpassed.
Only games i can see lagging a little bit are bioshock and crysis
but i bet still highly acceptable at 1900 on the gts 640mb.
Look at it this way you change your graphics card more often than your screen
so lets say you get a 22" then you upgrade your card say to a gtx or nvidia 9800 when they are cheaper in a while you will regret not getting the 24" in my opinion.

yes it has an S-ips panel the samsung 226bw has an ancient tn film
panel like all the other 22" screens.
Am in the same position as you and have decided to save just that bit longer for a 24" dell.
I would say go for the 24" as long as you update your graphics card regularly
like i do.But if your sticking with the gts for a long time go for a 22"

pretty much apart from the colour gamut
look in the dell 24" threads dotted all over here
it seems to be regarded as the best monitor around.

Worth hanging on a while m8 wait to see what price the 2407 HC version levels out at and whether this affects the older ones price.
Also do you want hdmi as the benq 24 " model has that.

You are beginning to make me laugh at your posts .

From your sig, you are using a CRT.

What exactly is your indepth knowledge of TFT panels based upon , you haven't even got one !

Yes , S-IPS gives better viewing angles - This hardly makes TN film " Ancient ".

Yes , The Dell 2407 Range is the preffered range for many users.

This doesn't make all other screens 2nd rate / sub-standard options.

Untill you have used a few TFTs' yourself , and not solely based your opinion on what you read , then your comments are pretty worthless.

well unless my eyes are heavily damaged , the 226BW and the EIZO S1910 with TN and SPVA are as different as is day and night. ofcourse the eizo is light years better

S-pva s-ips whats the difference ? both are 8 bit its just better than the now
prehistoric tn film.
And just because i have a crt for gaming you assume i don't own or have owned tft's.
I have had two actually which have gone back after seeing how sub standard they are.
And i have one on the downstairs pc,and yes it's just awful because,
it's a now medieval tn film panel.

I'm not trying to flame/troll or whatever its called, but could you please use some punctuation (eg, capital letter, full stops) just to make your post slightly more readable :)

Thanks

Flame/troll is non existent grammar, i did a google search and used spell checker.
But i shall let you off this time and have thus done my utmost
to bring my grammar in line with your standards, bearing in mind i left
all form of schooling at the age of 12 years.

I've been a real die hard CRT fan for years, i currently have a sammy 22" 2ms and a dell 2407 after recently making the switch and i have to agree that although the dell 2407 image quality is fantastic, it'd be extremely harsh to consider a lot of the tn-based lcd's such as the 226bw sammy "inferior" as its pretty great PQ itself and certainly has its advantages when it comes to responsiveness on a wide range of games. Its also a hell of a lot cheaper too.

I do feel this "inferior tn-panel" business is a little unfounded in honesty.

Well i myself have a 22inch samsung 226bm, no letters on the back, and i can tell you now its not as good as my friend 24inch dell (non HC) i can't seem to get the colour right with this and there is a tad backlight bleed, and since OCUK have dropped the price of the 24 i am going to take it back.
