That was from the test jump, still an incredible photo though
I'm in awe of what I just watched, what an amazing man he is, alpha as ****
but there has to be a limit or nasa would just send people up in balloons
Anyone have a a list handy?
Hight he fell from?
His free fall time?
Top speed hit?
Overall fall time?
I either read it here or elsewhere, but apparently he did say he did pass out, and said he 'could fall to sleep'.
I'm looking forward to this press conference!
anyone got a video of the whole jump?
i missed it all![]()
What? You realise orbit is around 17,500 MPH, how do you get the balloon to go that fast![]()
If you want to get into orbit you need to pass escape velocity, which is what? 17-18 thousand MPH otherwise you come back down to Earth and going Mach 25 or whatever that is when you hit the atmosphere you heat up to well over 1200 degrees C
wonder what g forces were
So he didn't break the speed of sound either?
I hope no-one is underneath that! It would make sense if they had bags of sand or water that way it could disperse over the 77k ft and not land as a single item - that could make a bit of a crater in someone's car/roof etc!

Felix apparently kept his DRS on for too long which is what caused the tumble.
I'm not sure speed of sound was broken either?
Surely you would have seen the sonic boom as he fell
