23 mile skydive!

It's a shame we'll never find out if that safety will ever improve with space shuttles since Obama killed it all and wont be anything new to replace it. It would have been great to know if some plates fail on the shuttles the astronauts could have still bailed if that existed. Rather than burn to their deaths.

I was always surprised there was never an emergency ejector escape pod section if such an occurrence took place.

As cool as the shuttle was, it wasn't great.

They are building Orion (capsuale) and SLS(rocket) that are capable of deep space flight, so far more cool than shuttle.
And skylon has passed it's pre-cooler tests so if they can get funding, it'll be far cheaper and better than the shuttle.

So shocked at the lack of interest from ALL my friends. Excitedly posted this to my FB as Felix was ascending in the capsule. Sent some texts out as well. First reply was "Amazin, will check it out later, @ ____ place playin Battlefield, u should come over!"

......

Oh well, not all of us are the same. At least I find like-minded people in this GD thread :D
