24 or 30

I'm thinking of either a second 2407 or selling mine and getting a 30" panel. Not 100% sure. I play games and surf the net mainly and I also watch a lot of DVD's etc on my PC. I'm thinking 1x30" would be better?

For you I'd definitely get 1x30" - better for games/dvds and having dual 24" screens for surfing the net is major overkill.

iv been thinking of getting a 30" as well but think its gonna be to big for everyday use web and stuff might get another 24" thats a nice amount of workspace.

what gfx card can run the 3x 24" above?

I have 3 * 24 inch, had considered a 30" but I much prefer having seperate screens for seperate tasks.

Screen 1 = Full screen VMWARE box for work
Screen 2 = Email, Messenger, browser etc.
Screen 3 = Multimedia stuff, MP3, video, TV etc.

Dell 2407 (AO4's)

So basically what your saying is that you can watch 3 different dvd's all at the same time? I could get into that I guess

Nice! Do you use softth for triple monitor gaming?

I've seen plenty of 30s and they're too big for my liking - 24-27 seems to be about right.

Plus you really don't want to cart a 30" monitor to a LAN! :D

I'd have a 21.1" for LAN - although I just cannot make my mind up.

Edit: I play games etc on my PC - can use it for work as well but main use is gameing/browsing.

I'd forgot about this thread. My only concern with 30" is you'd always need a bleeding edge PC which isn't a huge problem but still.

Not sure on what 24" though!

I was in the same position, the Hazro HZ30W seems to be really reasonably priced at the moment. But ye I dont fancy having to upgrade constantly to play new games on it, so I guess its 24" for me too... I want a good ips screen but dont wanna pay over £400 so waitin to see what happens with these new e-ips panels.

I'm now starting to think my 24" is a little on the small side (seemed huge when I first bought it) - for multitasking Windows 7 has that new feature where you can snap windows side-by-side which could be of benefit.

I share a long desk with my wife in our office so 2x24 would be out for me, so when I next upgrade monitors it'll be to a 30" one.

I use 2x24", previously I've had 1x24" and 2x20".

Dual monitors is perfect for me, they're plenty big for gaming/dvds even from about 3 metres away sat in bed. I don't play many games and don't want to spend a tonne on graphics cards so I can keep the framerate up, so 30" for me would be pointless.

I use them for music production mainly so they're a huge help for that.

I have a 28" and similar spec to you apart from I just ordered a quad core. Was running a dual which has been enough until GTA and the like came out. I vote go for 30". Trouble is, after a week or so, you dont notice it any more!

Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but how about 2x30"? I've been using 2x24" for the last year or so, and it's the insatiable desire to get ever bigger stuff.

Remember when you got your first 21" CRT? How massive was that !?!? How about your first 24"? Makes you wonder just how big monitors will get...

What I mean is 2650x1600 is a pretty insane resolution, and to play new games at high settings you'll need a 4870x2, you cant know how the demanding games in the near future will be, but it'll probably require frequent hardware upgrades.

Also in terms of gaming I dont think the new panel in the Hazro HZ30W is as good as the old one, which means past reviews might no longer be accurate =/

But for windows use I think the native resolution would be awesome.

I used to have multiple screens, then I found my Alt Tab key lol.

I always found if you need a multiple apps running at once it is better to have to seperate pc's driving them.

So I you have one machine I suggest 30" !

i grabbed 2 hazros when on offer at christmas and one in jan sales:D both on special offers and funny thing was jan sales was cheaper still:D:D

both absolutely brill with no defects whatsoever:p:

i say once you have gone dual 30" dont turn back...(thinking of 3:p tho that may be too much even for me:D:D:D:D)
