24p dizzy inducing.

Its pcs unfortunately. A dedicated Bluray player would be fine. But as they are shot at 23.xxx it accounts why its jerking. Why not film at 25 or something that at least is easy to match exactly or in multiples.

I have to say VLC player seems to be the better option for me :)

Why is that though? The TV is still refreshing at 24hz correct?

I have just purchased a Bluray/HD-DVD internal drive. And I can say the picture is proper smooth now, but have lip sync issues!!!!!

Cannot win.

Spend amount on a system and you tend to feel a freesat HD box and Bluray/PS3 would be the better option in my case :(. There are loads of google searches on Lip Sync issues in powerdvd and TMT, why do the developers not fix it! Yes I can play at 50hz and get synced sound, but the the picture is jerky!!!

Which drive did you buy? I think my HTPC will be on the MM soon. :p

How do I check. Its brand spanking new out of the box :). Will it help my audio sync :D?

I think the only way of checking is to download the latest and see what it says when you run the update. Iirc it tells you the current and upgrading firmwares are.

Most TVs will double or tripple the frame rate of 24p stuff, I don't believe they show at 24Hz or the flicker would be absolutely nuts!! I can see flickr on a 50Hz TV as can a lot of people.

On my panny plasma it shows the refresh rate and res when you send an input, I'm assuming yours is showing 1080p24 when switching to your PC?

It does not say the refresh on the OSD just 1080p :)

LCD TV's (and pretty much every other HDTV technology other than CRT) don't actually use a refresh rate as such due to way they work and thus will never flicker in that way.
