Soon we'll need that capacity who knows what's around the corner.

Apart from the fact we don't actually need the capacity, we "need" the capacity. The information most people truly need can probably fit on a cd.

Prosumer's need this kind of drive for HD editing but even gamers only need such capacious drives if they never uninstall anything they've ever bought. This kind of drive also demands a much more efficient file system because defragmenting it is going to take a month.
 
Think how long a 24TB drive would take to do a full format..................................:eek:

Yep or copy all of your data to it and imagine the mess if the copy goes pear shaped half way through and you have to work out what has been copies and what hasn't :).
