If it's any consolation, my suburban exchange has 21,449 residential, 772 non-residential - it looks like we won't be getting FTTC until after 2015 either!
Quite strange since it was one of the first to get ADSL back in 2000 / 2001.
Edit: I've just noticed *ALL* the surrounded exchanges are being activated bar mine. Grr.

I know the feeling, it a pity that BT are always choose which exchanges get it and which exchanges will not get it. I never like BT myself since BT went private by Thatcher's year.

In terms of access to the network, yes.
In terms of service provision to customers, no.
BT had naff all to do with deregulation, it's all OFCOM hitting them with a stick.

The first batch of 28 exchanges will go ahead this month following by another 66 exchanges between July and September in the 2nd batch and the rest (3rd batch) will be between October and March 2011. But there is no details yet of which exchanges (28 of it) will be the 1st batch as C&W remain kept quiet of it.

Have you seen some news i havn't? Also another guy on thinkbroadband forum saying hes getting C&W LLU in 1 week. How does he know this?
The ISPs don't know. Sams knows website doesn't report enable dates anymore :S

Well, my exchange is on the list - infact it shows as enabled !w00t! BUT check the speedtest - I *should* be able to get upto 24Meg - my actual best speed is 1.5Meg and I get (and this is a decent speed for me):

I struggle to get 8Mb and im not far from that exchange, i was talking to O2 and they have LLU installed, and can offer me 17+Mb, compared to my Eclipse, but is it worth changing,
I think it will be along long time before we see FTTC, or ADSL24, no one seems to want to appear in this town haha.

Check contract length etc.
ADSL24 resell both BT 21CN, C&W and BeThere LLU.
If your exchange is ADSL2+ (21CN) you can get broadband with ADSL24. They are great

Bah humbug, my exchange which was showing as June on the BT checker and the cabs are in and I've seen them wiring them up is now showing July and there's tons of new digging around the cabs, guess they are waiting on United Utilities to actually bother to connect them to the mains.
