I'm using a P8P67 Pro REV 3.1 with a 2600k. Cooled by a H100 with 2x120mm fans, are these good temps and safe to run at or? I know I only run Prime95 for 17 minutes but meh, seemed okay.

Thanks, Antony

I now have the same temps running at 4.6Ghz, the H100 is on low yes, turning it up doesn't seem to help and it's stupidly loud, I cannot afford new fans at this moment in time so will have to make do, I was a bit suspicions of the temps as I thought the H100 would do a better job but even at stock speeds it gets to 60ish on 100% load.

Thanks, Antony

Are you sure the temps stabilised? if you only ran it for 17 mins then you may find that they were actually still increasing, then when you use it in anger it will BSOD when it climbs too high in a game for instance.

Triple check its mounted right.

At a guess I would say you are 10C off where it should be.

Hmmm, I'm sure it's mounted right, tightened up the 4 screws as much as I could without over doing it. I'll have a look when I next get the chance to move it, small room and this case is heavy as hell. I should be safe at around 75 degrees under 100% load shouldn't I?

You sure thats the lowest vcore possible for your OC?

On average u can get that kind of OC running at 1.28v - 1.3v which would bring your temps down approx 7 or 8c

On whose average? I've done about 60 2600K chips since release and many many chips need about 1.34v or more for 4.4Ghz, have had the odd 4.8Ghz 1.3v chips but thats maybe 5 of the lot. I tend to use medium LLC for idle/ light load stability so a slightly higher vcore, but still in the ballpark if highest LLC was used. I'm guessing a lot of 'stable' one hour tested 4.6/4.8GHz clocks are ok for light use and games that don't really push it, but put some stress on the rig that really brings it to its knees and it might fall over.

I'm no longer running that Vcore, it is now set to auto, I'll fiddle with it at some point. Not sure of my ambient, it seems like it reaches the temps of the PC after a while ahah.
