27" G-Sync 1440p Monitor Recommendations

Dell have much better panel QC, so worth looking into them next. It's a tradeoff I guess: multiple returns vs not as good viewing angles, and the need to calibrate.

They also have premium panel guarantees. Some manufacturers have a warranty tolerance of a dead pixel or two, so be careful.

Does the calibration on the Dell require a specific tool, or is it just settings?

I am buying from the rain forest so returns are not an issue. :)

That depends on how good you want it - you could do it by eye using windows stuff. But terrible people would buy a second hand piece of calibration equipment from a site that's good with returns, and then find they don't actually have use for it anymore and return it for a full refund.

I have used a spyder5 pro calibration device on my s2716dg and tbh it has now a very nice picture quality very easy to do and just return every month to keep it up to scratch. was a good investemt. btw mine is an A03 revision built may 2016

Well, after going through SIX IPS monitors, I finally have a good panel!

1) BenQ GW2765HT - White spots in the bottom left corner
2) AOC AGON AG271QG - Horrible backlight bleed and a really annoying dead pixel right where the back button on the browser is located.
3) ViewSonic XG2703-GS - Backlight bleed was minimal but it had MASSIVE black dead pixel in the bottom right corner.
4) AOC AGON AG271QG - Backlight bleed issue again with this panel plus lots of starry looking pixel clusters on dark background.
5) ViewSonic XG2703-GS - Backlight bleed again was minimal, but it had an almost identically positioned dead pixel to the previous ViewSonic. Almost as if they sent me the same panel back!
6) ViewSonic XG2703-GS - FINALLY - A perfect screen. The UK clover leaf power lead was missing from the box so the * No competitor hints please **! Got it for a total of £540. Then bought a power lead for £1.99. :)

In summary, the ViewSonic is a far better screen than the AOC AGON in all of the models that I tried. Far less backlight bleed and much nicer to look at.

Please do was thinking about this monitor but then you see pictures from owners threads and you see how bad the BLB looks I think better of it, don't want to spend £700 and get bad BLB but I want to upgrade from this 1080 60hz monitor I'm on now.

This old LG monitor has almost zero BLB just a tiny bit of clouding near the top that hugs the edge, why is it older monitors had less BLB ?
Sorry for not updating sooner.....busy in work.

I can't fault mine at all...just the price.

Worked perfect out of the box.

Only thing I'm wondering about is did I really need to spend that much money.

No point talking a phone photo as quality of jpeg would not do it justice.
