290-300 mhz ram(DDR 580-600) questiom

I'm not sure whether the black mushkins will go any higher, but redlines certainly will. Your other bet is the Gskill pc4000, I think I read about someone hitting 280...hmm not sure.

I have them already the G skill Hz !

TBH they are great but I'm just short of running 1:1 at speeds in my sig. :)

Sorry can't find any links, that was the only memory that came up when i googled "2gb pc4400"

It's so hard to get 2GB kits that run that fast at stock, 1GB kits are very easy to find (OcUK even have them - Corsair 1GB XMS4400C25PT (MY-068-CS))

if your looking for 280-300fsb, Crucial ballistix is your best bet but there recent batch was very bad and started dieing although mine has been running for more than 4 months now and its perfect.

Mine lasted just under five months before failing - don't want to worry you just to warn you.

just throwing my hat in the ring :)

i have pc4000 ballistix ram (2x512 tho) and so far they are fine running 280mhz @ 2.5-3-3-8

havent taken them above 285 tho (CPU still gives up there :( )

as far as the warranty goes, if you have 2x1gb kits and it fails, they CANT give you 4x512 as a replacement if you refuse. if they ask why, beyond the obvious fact that you paid for 2x1GB sticks you could also just say you are running 4x1GB in there and obviously therefore need another 2 sticks of 1GB ram. either that, or a refund.

personally, ballistix kicks booty! :D just a shame micron cant sort out the flaw in the design of the 2gig kits :(
