2900xt owners\benchmarks thread

Either the Vista drivers are really bad, or there's something wrong there.

I just ran the FEAR test at 1920x1200, max detail, high quality, 4xAA/16xAF, on my GTX at stock (575/1800) on XP

Average 86, Min 44, Max 209

I know the GTX is a bit faster than a GTS640, but my scores are double your o'clocked score.

Must be the vista driver, even that nvidia human head demo i get like 6 fps, in xp its more like 22 or so.

65nm R600 is a new, redesigned core

Confirmed

Sources close to the company have confirmed the existence of the 65 nanometre R600 core but they could not confirm its R670 or R650 codenames.

The sources confirmed that 65 nanometre R600 is not just a shrinked chip, it is a redesigned core scheduled for introduction in Q3.

A new core should improve the flaws in R600 designed and our sources confimed this original story that you can check here .

Hardly it's a Fudzilla article I thought you'd at least know this by now. ;)
I don't know why people are so dismissive of fudzilla, his sources are usually proven right in the end.

I'm not at all surprised that the new r600 will be a revised core, as the AA problem really needs to be fixed at core level. If the current R600 had MSAA, it would beat the 8800GTX.

*cough*100*cr600&750psu*cough* (on the box it says it needs a 500w):)

What type off aa does Quake 4 use, because it beats the gtx with aa on that

i dont see it myself , it would cost to much money to "redesign" area of the r600 core , and even if they have i cant see it in september! :p

Maybe ATI will prove me wrong , but come on the r600 is a very advanced chip , but it hasnt even got any drivers yet that are not beta! and eveyone is dissing it because the aa doesnt work , and oh it cant beat the gtx , on paper the r600 should wallop the gtx , and i believe in 3dmark 06 it does? , just wait and see what the drivers bring

I think you might find that it could beat the gtx with a lot of new games comming out.........

On the HIS HD2900XT box, it says it needs a 750w :)

i was about to say haha rubbish...

but i just looked on my box and it says a 750W or better

well my hyper type R works fine only 580W had no problems yet :)

Has anyone noticed in the RC7 drivers you cant disable the AA filter, it always on even if you have AA disabled in the CCC, peps have reported not as good performance with these drivers, that's probably the reason. Though i don't really know if it gives better game quality set like that.

It can do MSAA  and is beating the GTX/GTS more and more in every new driver revision, expect it to be beating both cards in around two months time. :)

So are these drivers (the leaked RC7's) anything like as good as the one you have under NDA? (cause these ones do naff all for my cards performance).

but this is speculation i think,
it may be that some games will prefer ATI and some nVidia (in DX10)
