** 2GB GFX RAM VS 1GB GFX RAM IN BF3 (560Ti 1GB VS 560Ti 2GB) TESTING RESULTS!

I can understand the reasons for customer concerns etc and I may have misread but im struggling to understand how you can compare two seperate battlefield scenarios to each other.

You said that both were 60+ people but there's no mention of the map that the averages where recorded on and frame rate is heavily variant on the players surroundings, explosions, vehicle/weapon usage (to name a few).

Yes, an average is an average and it appears evident that the 2GB performs better throughout the entirety of the tests but as there's no in-game benchmark feature (unless I'm mistaken?) how can you can base these figures on one comparison?

Can't say I've had any performance issues at all with my twin frozr 560ti at stated resolution, other than graphical glitches in the game itself (which the patch is supposed to have fixed). Was smooth as silk in single player. Are there other non biased sources for this info, with a more complete testing? Not that it'll influence me to buy a new card, when mine is perfect for my use, anyway. Just curious :)

From my experience with the SP (MP doesn't work for me) is with 2 1GB GTX 560's in SLI I can run the game on Ultra settings at 1920x1200 as long as AA is set to x2 or off.

With 4xAA the frame rates dip from 50-70 down to as low as 15 and then back up again, but the dips are too regular to make it playable.

The guy from hardwarecanuks who posts on XS said he is going to be doing a 1 Gb vs 2 Gb GTX 560 ti review.

More PC memory helps as well, my friends put in another 4gb into there systems (went from 4gb to 8gb) and it fixed there lag, from my understanding when vram is gone it goes to your pc ram then to hard drive so 8gb ram should fix the problem.

I would not say any of those frame rates look very playable !

Not doubting the results but normally throwing more memory at old architecture is just a gimmick, frequently proved

I don't play the game so can not comment, but it sounds like the game needs a bit more code optimisation !

*scrounger alert*

If you forsee a overstock of 1GB cards, does this mean a few discounts on them in the coming months?

...... or should I just steal the money from the wifes purse as per usual, and get a 560ti 1GB, i only ever game at 1650x1050 tbh?

We already are, see our BLACK FRIDAY DEALS, were doing a 1GB Asus 560Ti at just £149.99, lowest in UK by over £20. :D

Interesting that...

I find it odd you're suggesting that a 2GB VRAM + is needed at Full HD...

With most things on Ultra, and a couple of things on high, I see higher FPS' than you're getting with the 2GB 560 on my 1.5GB 480. I'd be quite interested to see how a 1.25GB 570 performed, or even a 1.5GB 580 in comparison.

I'm not denying at res' above this, you won't need 2GB, but at FullHD, I'd say you can certainly get away with 1.5GB...

Also as for the Mars guy who struggled at 2500x1600. Well of course he did. He needs more VRAM...

I have 3 of the 3Gb EVGA 580's and they are worth every penny :D Even with only two connected at the moment with my i7 and my EVGA 759 motherboard, I'm aiming to see what 3 are like in my other EVGA 762 motherboard!!

High res gaming for the win!! :D

I've been saying for nearly 12 months that 1Gb VRAM is simply not enough anymore at 1080p+

Most games eat passed it!

As for the guy who bought the MARS 2 that's a perfect example of more money then sense... That card is serious fail and get's pwned by Crossfire 2Gb 6950's at ultra high res gaming because of the VRAM limitation.

Been experiencing problems with my 5850 1gb so have decided to get one of these 560 ti's. Tried to put another 4 gb in my system but it doesn't like it and won't boot and I lose my ocing abilities.
