2gb to 4gb?

i do some work that requires the 4 gig ram.

and its not a real waste of money considering the ram was on special offer by crucial for 85 quid inc vat and free delivery for the 2gig kit. for that price i had to snap it up even if its just for asthetics.

i want dual core now, but want one that can hit 3ghz on air cooling. what 939 x2 would handle that?

pointless, wound need to buy new board and new memory so conroe is out of the question.

may hunt around for a dual core that can do 2.8ghz then. hope its not too shabby.

yea second hand is fine, im not shelling out 600 quid for a new cpu its a waste of money. no more than 150 quid tops. could also sell my current cpu or do part ex for dual core.

im reluctant to go for a x2 3800 because it only has 512kb cache per core where my single core has 1mb cache. hence why i would like a dual core cpu with 1mb per core.

tricky situation this becuase i also want a cpu that will clock up to the speeds my current cpu is at. and im sure with a better board my cpu would clock even higher.
