2k - 2.5k build

Doomed is there a reason you choose the silverstone tundra cooler? im genuinely interested to know, i need to buy an interim cpu cooler for my 4770k, im selling my Kuhler 920 as i want a 240 or 280mm cooler, so far my choices are h110, h100i and nzxt Kraken.

h110 is losing as i want to be able to control via windows, so that means the kraken or the h100i, h100i is out of stock, so im also looking at other alternatives.

Back to the Cosmos case issue, Doomed basically said what i meant, the Cosmos is overpriced i feel, and its not a good choice if your not going to use half of its features.

Corsair Air 540 features in many baskets that are posted and thats for a good reason, its one of the best air cooling cases you can buy and its incredibly priced too.

Much like if people ask for a watercooling case often they get linked the Phantek or 900D etc.

Other than that, Doomeds basket looks spot on

There are a few reasons i selected it for this:

  • It performs similar to the H100i
  • It costs less than the H100i and H110 (currently)
  • It is quieter than the H100(i)
  • It matches the white/black/blue colour scheme
  • I love silverstones build quality

You say you're looking for software control though, on that count the tundra is out, but this extract from a bit-tech review sums up the issue very well:

Unlike similar offerings from Corsair, NZXT and Antec, there's no software control offered for the Tundra coolers. The biggest loss here is that of monitoring and controlling fan speeds. That said, we've often found AIO cooler software to be unstable or unreliable, and the fans on the TD02 are PWM enabled, so it's still possible to adjust their speed with relative ease.

Good to know on the points you highlighted, i also love the look of it and Silverstone stuff is usually really good quality.

I find the control software on my Antec Kuhler 920 great for keeping tabs on liquid temps etc and being able to control the fan speeds on the fly.

I could get one and connect it to the fan controller on my case and change that to being PWM controlled, its quite nice on the Phantek Case, it will take 11 fans and they all become PWM if you plug the controller into a PWM header on the mobo. Currently i have my 920 plugged into the cpu header and the fan controller is plugged into another header. Read a few people who have plugged their AIO into the fan controller and plugged that into the cpu header, might give that a shot.
