I'm hoping to upgrade/get a new build for my dying PC in the next month or so, and I always like to have a second drive in my machine for storing my documents, photos, mp3s and downloads etc.

I currently have a 500gig SATA drive in my machine for this, I'm just wondering whether this is the best option, or would it be better to have an external enclosure with hard drive in for a back up drive?

How do you normaly back-up your data, I have 2 hd in my machine one for Windows and programmes the other for all my documents.
I have a 1TB Samsung in a external caddy which I use for backing up the operating system and my document using Acronis.

Thats not a bad idea, especially with the price of HDDs now.
At the moment, I keep a copy of my documents on the 2nd drive, keep all my pictures/mps/drivers etc on the 2nd
