I can't beleive how cheap 2TB hard drives are now, I remember them being over £200 not long ago.

My limit is £90...

Now I have a 1TB a 1.5TB and now a 2TB in the space of 2 years all because they keep dropping in price.

Yeah, but keep in mind that the cheaper drives have lower spin speeds and therefore do not perform as well. It still costs £130+ for a 2TB 7200RPM drive.

The Samsung F4 is the newest one out and uses 3 x 667 Gb platters, and its only £85.

I'd get one of those.

The cheapest one is the Seagate LP at £80, I got that one and its completely fine for a storage drive.

2 Tb drives are £80 - £85, and samsung F3 1 Tb's are £45, they are amazing value for Raid 0 F3s plus a backup 2 Tb drive.

The Sammy 2TB 5400RPM F4 performs as fast as a Sammy 1TB 7200RPM F3.

Both have about 140MB/s Read/Writes.

You can't just look at drive RPM's, the F4 has much bigger and denser platters, which off sets the lack of rotational speed.

Even so, with SSD's large disks are just being used for storage these days.
Who needs a 2TB boot drive?
I have 5x1Tb drives in my home server and still have plenty of room. Once they are nearing 75% full I will start the slow upgrade to 2Tb drives.
