2x 7800 GTX vs 1900 XT-X

With my dated last gen x850xt pe i have no problems playing cod2, bf2 at 1600x1200 x4 aa x8 af and all effects set to max, and to get fear running sweet at the same settings I just needed 2gb of ram, I'm not a person that can play a slide show, gameplay has to be flawlessly smooth.
my card is slower than the latest top offerings, and a heck of a lot slower than an x1900xt so I really feel single card is all that is necessary for a good while.

i could understand if it were the same situation as me where i buy 1 card every 2 years but an upgrade from that sli is a little pointless

I've noticed in a lot of tests the x1900xtx seems to perform phenomenally well when you ramp up the anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering in modern games. for example even with softshadows enabled in F.E.A.R (typically very hard for ati cards to pull off) it still manages to out perform 2x 512mb gtx's in sli! check toms hardware for an interesting review.
I have an ultra-d sli unlocked board and was going to go with 2 gtx's, but I couldnt play without lots of aa and af so I'm coming to the conclusion a single 1900xtx would be a better deal

My sli 7800gtx 256mb do 50fps in fear with 4xAA and 8xAF at 1600x1200.

There's no way that the 7800gtx 512mb in sli would only do 28fps
and single 7800gtx 512mb do 16fps at them settings..

The results below are the right ones..

I agree.

That's at 1920x1200 with everything maxed out.

yeah thats what I thought sli would be capable of, its so obviously driver issues

just seen this happen so often with new games

I see the graphs are different but, are you taking into account the fact that there maybe a slightly different setup?

THG are testing with:

fx57, 2gb pc4400 cl3 corsair, wd raptor 74gb, Asus AN8-SLI Premium / ati reference board xpress 200 CF, drivers could be an issue too, thg used whql signed drivers. What is the system setup for that graph?
