30/11 Strikes.

Status quo shock horror that people have to pay tax to live in a country and receive the benefit of being within it, including a relatively safe environment for both society and business?

Yeah, really shot me there haven't you guv'.

Are you trying to suggest I'm against all taxation, just because I recognise the nature of taxation? Haven't we been through this strawman before?

Recognising the nature of taxation and why it's application should be strictly limited and controlled is not the same as wanting it abolished, just as your characterisation of the minimal level of social contract tax is associated with is not at all the same as our taxation and public sector structure in the UK.

We've been through your strawman that tax is theft, yes.

It isn't theft though, indeed I need not pay it at all but I would have to be prepaired for the legal consequences demanded by wider society who do not begrudge paying for the construct they live in and that you do as well.

Lol if you think you're going to get a straight answer out of Dolph.:D

He works, or at least worked, for a FTSE 250 company in a specialised roll between statistics and HR - one that was made for his skill set apparently. I presumed it to be in the City but it may not be, although he is terribly fond of the financial industry. Which of course turns into hating anything that threatens it, like real industry. Right? ;) :p

The NHS crippled her?

She is permanatly disabled following an industrial accident while working for the NHS, yes. Responsibility unchallenged and everything.

So why are they keeping the NHS then dolph? Who is going to destroy the public sector and state like you wish?

Going to blame the stupid people again?

Well, the NHS is moving to a much better, more patient driven model likely to produce much better outcomes (as it has everywhere else it is used), the education system is being reformed to a much better model...

The coalition is starting the process, and only good can come of it unless you think that public services should be a jobs club run for the benefit of the staff...

Compensation for the accident?

State controlled NHS Dolph, why is it still happening?

Well I'm not allowed to strike as I'm not part of the union.
I wouldn't anyway, my entire office is going to be dealing with more stress than normal because half are off 'striking' including my manager. Asked him why he's doing it and got a response of 'we all strike to disrupt everything, and maybe then the government will change its mind/plan' followed by him giving the crappy late shifts to those not striking and making us pick up the slack so there is no 'disruption' in our services we provide....bonkers plan if you ask me!

Well I dont want to strike but I like the idea of a day off....

I plan on going to work but tbh im being put off with the fact that im going in there to do other peoples work. I work out in the public eye for the council's land & fleet but have been told that I shall be working 'out the way' doing someone elses job instead of my own but basically what they are trying to say is 'we're hiding you out the way just incase anyone spots ya' lol if I wake up on wednesday and the weather is awful like It was yesterday or has been today then I shall just stay in my bed

Yes, for all the good it can do.

Then she should think herself lucky that she works in an area where the employer has tort against such instances and you should stop being what appears to be bitter over what is essentially an accident that I'm sure no one intended for, I know a few people crippled by negligence or along those lines who had no ability to seek financial redress from their employer beyond benefit eligability due to their restricted mobility caused by said employer.

Mostly, because the NHS is a sacred cow and too many people are willing to sacrifice lives for ideology, or think an American style system is the only alternative...

Including the Conservatives. Looks like your thinking is going no where, doesn't it?

Pretty wild huh? I was expecting cows floating past the windows with that wind earlier..

What do you mean? They're being instructed to pay more into their pensions, get less back and work for longer. The average public sector pension is worth £5000 a year btw, hardly a king's ransom.

Yes but how does that compare to the same private sector pension, as far as i'm aware, they will still pay less and receive more than the private sector equivalent ?

I'll include you in this with your consistent misrepresentation, ignoring of statistics that doesn't fit your dogma and when we get down to the nitty-gritty it's quite clear you do no know really what you are on about. Like I've said before if you care that much: do something about it.
