You've had 10/11 months of being 'really happy with the performance', prior to the announcement of the new cards. The 3090 didn't suddenly become obsolete just because something faster came out 
As other's have said, if you want a new screen, buy that first and see where it leaves you, but I'd certainly have my doubts about dumping another £2k on a GPU when you could just turn down a couple of settings instead.
(all a matter of perspective from how much disposable cash you have and whether there are more fun things you could do with that money though, I suppose!)
