30xx Series Founders Edition

Great time I played since launch too, just not interested in Shadowlands since BFA beta I was like "This is pants" and Shadowlands when the shine wears of quickly is the same systems in new clothes imo so not bothered to buy it.

I hit top 10 EU raider io season 2 BFA and realised i was just making millions of gold selling boosts in my free time and the game was beyond repair systematically. Think blizzard knew this before BFA launch but it was too late to change at that point, and Ians arrogance I suspect had a role to play.

Im gutted to be honest I think Activision profit squeezing and cost cutting has ruined the game, you cant treat an MMO like a FPS and they have/do.

You guys found anything else to play mmo wise? I cant get into Final Fantasy online never make it past level 10, I got Alpha access to the Amazon MMO, played for a few hours never played again its a bit... pants tbh.

1st Gn0me mage to 60 back in the day on Runetotem EU :) i played WoW steadily from Beta through to BC, i hated BC though and quit after a few weeks, came back towards the end for WOTLK and played all of that then quit again, i seem to come back each expansion for a month or so then quit lol.. Been playing Everquest a lot on the Progression Servers, im in an EU guild doing old content for fun, but i can see me giving it the boot in the next few months as its starting to get stale and boring.

Been keeping an eye on Pantheon and Camelot, both for different reasons, but right now they both seem a bit vaporware. Nothing really good i can see on the horizon for MMORPGs really :(

Cyberpunk will keep us all busy for a good while.

@Th0nt Yeah i gave in to the darkside, mostly because i want something to play Cyberpunk on, and i had sold my 5700XT, the Ref 290 i have just convinced me i need to get something asap, the FE came in at £650 was a no brainer when looking at the prices and availability in general for GPUs right now. Dont worry i'll be back on AMD at some point, still trying to find a 5900X in stock, no luck so far.

Got a question for Nvidia owners, as someone who has pretty much exclusively used AMD cards for the past 10yrs (i did have a 1070 for about 8 months but was only ever at stock settings) Whats the best software to use to get the most from the cards? Normally with AMD i know what im doing, undervolting etc, for Nvidia i am relatively in the dark, do i just use their software? should i use MSI afterburner? i read ages ago that it had a GPU OC feature on it where it would analyze your silicon and OC for you? is that even a thing now? i have no clue if these 3080s can even OC at all either.

Idiots guide would be useful i guess :)

Also DLSS, i am guessing Cyberpunk will support it, i run 3440x1440p, i guess i can Upscale via DLSS to 4k right? i guess its a fairly straight forward thing to do as well?

You don't upscale to 4k, you run the game at your native screen res, run DLSS at quality, it'll render the game at a lower res and upscale to your native res. Not 4K, unless you run 4K monitor.

I run a 4k monitor. Does that mean it will know that so drop to 1440p then upscale + DLSS or is it a manual thing user will force as nvidia's stellar AI wont know? :D

When I've used DLSS I just enable it in game and the FPS increases. There isn't an option to choose resolutions etc.

You will notice the quality difference if you stop playing the game and look really hard, for example death stranding, if you orientate the camera so the reflections on the ground are showing and reflecting the sun, the specs of dirt are a bit sharper with native vs DLSS.

Generally you'll want to select "Quality" DLSS in settings, performance usually degrades the image quality significantly from what I've heard.

Performance is generally still pretty decent, but there's also now a new 'Ultra Performance' mode which is really designed for people wanting to game at 8K, but works at any resolution and drops the base resolution even further. On an 8K monitor it'll actually be rendering at 1440p for example, or 720p on a 4K monitor. That one doesn't hold up quite so well.

I know you make a valid point, but to be fair in a game like Death Stranding there's really no need to enable DLSS if you have a 3080 even at 4k.

The perfect companion to 30xx series cards. My bedroom just got upgraded and I won’t be coming out of bed for days. :D

Now to wait for gsync firmware fix.

Edit: turns out new firmware is already available and after installing it gsync works fine. ;)

Msi afterburner or evga precision x. I used the scanner on my card but the profile was not great. Just went back to good old manual tweaking - mine is undervolted. There are loads of guides out there
