30xx Series Founders Edition

Responded on your other thread. This highlights the cards can move fast, really pleased for you, gutted for the OcUK guys having to wait so long??

Guess what guys, it just arrived. I did not even pay for Saturday delivery. Lol!

Same here :)

Mine has dispatched this morning for Monday. My brothers is getting delivered today though lol lucky git.

Mine still not picked / dispatched :(

Still waiting for mine to be dispatched hope they've got one left

There isn't supposed to be any pre-ordering on these, if you get your email confirmation it should be reserved. There's always a chance of a double order due to lots of purchases at once but that will be an exception not the rule. I've not heard of anyone who get email confirmation of their order on an FE and didn't get one out of the currently available stock.

Not picked/dispatched here either yet. As my basket with the 3080 emptied the first time through I'm still wondering if I somehow managed to place an order when shouldn't have :). Missed a call earlier from an unrecognised number but a search revealed it likely to be a scam caller(not with an 'n' :D).
Will be fine I'm sure :).
Once received i may give NV's return process a try. My 20 series has dodgy LED's. The logo illumination disappears completely when gaming and randomly turns off or less bright in normal use. Still works fine though and probably wouldn't bother if it remained my only gpu. Anyone else returned a GPU to NV before? It used to be a **** process apparently. Over 2 years old but within the 3 year warranty period

If upgrading from a previous Nvidia card (980ti) to 3080FE

Is it just a matter of sticking it in with the power and then loading into windows

I have the latest GeForce Drivers and Experience loaded.

What's the 3090 FE like?

Thinking of getting one instead of a strix.

Its a beast. Thing is absolutely massive and build quality is second to none. In use as the cooler is pretty massive it stays pretty cool and quiet. Mine runs to around 1800-1900 Mhz or so out the box without any tweaks. Overclocking it and increasing power target in MSI AB lets it draw up to 400watts and at that point can see it hold around 2050 Mhz + without bother.

Mine does have coil whine though, but digging into it, think its more the PSU. Using a SFX one as its expected to go into a HTPC soon and the Silverstone unit has a lot of ripple so looking to replace with a corsair SKU. tried same card again with my primary AX1600i in my other build and its much better. That all said, I think coil whine is down to luck and combination of parts. Guru3D mentioned in there review there Strix had whine for example: https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_geforce_rtx_3090_strix_oc_review,34.html others users have reported mixed bag.

I suspect strix thanks for having a 480w BIOS may be able to shove more power into the chip to get a couple of steps higher with the same silicon, but not worth the premium IMO unless your really into benchmarking more so considering the FE build quality and how it keeps the 3090 cool and quiet. I would not pay the premium for the Strix at this point. That said, could even wait for AMD at this point, unlike the 3080FE, the 3070FE and 3090FE can be had for an hour or so after going live when up for sale. I suspect that may be the case going forward and those two should be easier to pick up.
