31.5" 2560x1440 165 Hz VA G-Sync - LG 32GK850G

It is quite strange for LG to use a VA panel since they are an IPS panel manufacturer. But they also went out of their way to put panel type "VA" on their spec sheet, but then list no contrast ratio.

Actually scratch that, PcMonitors.info gave up some good info:

https://pcmonitors.info/aoc/aoc-q3279vwf-31-5-inch-va-wqhd-freesync-model/

So that is obviously the same panel. 31.5" flat VA 1440P.

Panda LC320HU1A panel.

All the specs are matching up with LG's.

Hi Everyone :)

So - it is my understanding that yes it will be coming to the UK, along with quite a few different gaming models, we are stepping up our gaming range in 2018.

it is also my understanding that this is a VA panel, not IPS - but it will also overclock to 165Hz

So to give you an idea of what you could expect from LG in 2018;

- 34" Ultrawide Curved, Nano IPS, 3440x1440, G-Sync 120Hz, DCI-P3 98%
- 34" Ultrawide Curved, Nano IPS, 3440x1440, Freesync, 144Hz, HDR, DCI-P3 98%
- 32" 2560x1440 VA, G-Sync, 165Hz
- 32" 2560x1440 IPS, Freesync, 1ms 144Hz, HDR
- 32" 2560x1440 IPS, 1ms 144Hz,
- 27" 1920x1080 TN, Freesync, 1ms 240Hz

this names a few that I have seen, I think there will also be some more coming. of course all our gaming screens will have our usual black stabiliser & dynamic action sync

I think there is word of a 34" 5120x2160 5K with HDR600, an upgraded 38" with HDR, as well as upgraded 34" and 29" with HDR

of course once I have more confirmation of everything I will put some posts on here, but that's just a little teaser

There was a rumor that LG went into mass production for 144hz 1440p IPS panels in September. As can be seen here:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/38.htm#lg.display_144hz_update

Can you confirm this? Could it actually be the 34 inch 120hz 3440x1440 you mentioned?
Isn't it the same panel used in Alienware's new 34 inch monitor(the AW3418DW)?

Thanks for sharing this information!

Hi @echo14

I saw the thread on here about the Alienware model and what instantly sprung to mind was that it might be the same as the model we will be bringing out as its an IPS panel

we have 2 models of 3440x1440 120-144hz panels coming out so would make sense we are producing now

Interested only in the 3440x1440 G sync 120hz is this within four months you think? Alineware/Dell are using your LG panel as far as I can see.

Everything is too big 1440p is a really poor resolution because it it still the same ppi as a 1080p screen really how would you use a screen like these in a serious game like PUBG? I cannot see into bushes with such a low ppi count and 1440p cannot properly use DSR only 1080p can so 1080p is a superior gaming resolution with superior choice and superior smoothness. The only thing on the list i could use would be the 27 inch 240hz but there is no innovation at all apart from making it inferior to the other 24 inch panels because it has a lower PPI count and thus a worse image.

I wish someone would add HDR to those 240hz monitors because BF1 is just crying out for that! That would be innovation alongside some kind of glass/glossy front to rid TN of the milky washed out look it has. Glass fronted and HDR would probably eliminate it and you could if you wanted downsample 4K 240hz G-Sync. Really such a screen in 24 or 27 inch would actually be the king of gaming monitors for a fair bit simply because Nvidia DSR works so well at 1080p with 0% smoothing.

** personal attacks and baiting will not be tolerated under any circumstances *** AFAICT 32" 1440p is ideal as was 24" 1080p, 1440p on 27" in some instances due to crap Windows scaling can be small even with 20/20.
