313.95 Nvidia drivers

Heaven is the only improvement I have seen. Fantastic for gaming, not so good for benching.

Give the heaven thread a go on these drivers, you should get a nice boost.

This is a single GTX 690 on the new drivers, it was not even a serious run (I was just trying the card to see it was ok after a poor run on 3dmark11)

Oh dear!!! Come on Nvidia get the finger out!!! Maybe Nvidia will be the one to go with on the new 3D mark but at the mo I doubt it!!!

What are you on about? Plenty of people are running it maxed out with 8xMSAA at 1080p with a 680.

Well you have had a 680 for 1 day and are mouthing off like an expert !, that's why I pulled you up on it, it appears you have not even figured out the in game AA does not work yet

If it's all good for you then I am genuinely pleased for you, but as to a discussion on how you got it running well, is just not going to go anywhere so best we drop it.

Mouthing off? I said it ran fine, what's wrong with telling people my new card works fine?

Btw the in game AA works fine for me. So this discussion on it running well can continue as far as I care.

It was the "What are you on about?" that I had a problem with ! Having had a long discussion about this "stuttering issue" elsewhere I'm pretty confident the vast majority are affected in some way.

All I wonder is do you game with a controller ? because that's about all that I could possibly think could sort out the issue ?

I said "What are you on about?" because you said "no one else can get the game working smoothly with those settings" which is a blatant lie.

I game with mouse and keyboard.

To end this debate, the stutter of Far Cry 3 has been fixed with 313.95 drivers for most people (the ones it hasn't are the ones having issues with the 313.95 drivers).

I linked to frame latency times showing this.

Your not mistaking the SLI profile fix (for which there were actually nvidia inspector edits around) with the single card issues are you ?

Hooky version of the game seems to run better for people the retail seems a bigger problem..which keeps getting patched automatically, maybe negating driver improvements.

I was under the impression that only SLI users were having the issue. If I am wrong, I apologise.

No idea about hooky games, I got mine from the MM at a snip.

Sadly not, think plenty of ATI boys have problems also, Your SLI problem was sussed out about a month back, I did not tell you as I thought you must have known about it and maybe it did not work for you or something.

I understand with SLI setups the new driver brings you a "smooth V-sync" option in the control panel....sounds interesting :)

My Far Cry 3 issue was only sorted on these 313.95 drivers. Horrible HORRIBLE stutter (I may be exagerating a little) and far from what I was used to.

I can now run Far Cry 3 on high settings with DX11 and lots of trimmings and it is perfectly smooth.

The new "Smooth" v-sync option is far from smooth from the feedback I have seen. Not tried it personaly and have no need to try it.

Also tried Smooth v-sync and found it not as good as adaptive in BF3 allthough it may have of just been a crappy server I jumped on. Will give it another test when I get more time.

Far cry 3 on very high ( no msaa ) on my gtx 670 looks lovely and runs great except when the frame rate drops to 55fps then the game looks like it is running at 20fps not 55fps. Tried all sorts of stuff but cant get rid of it.

The only thing i found was that the gpu usage is only at 80 ish % so i put geometry on ultra and this made the usage go upto 95% but i get a lot of stutters. ( still at 52 to 55 fps ) but feels like 20fps.

so my impression is that 60fps or over with or without v-synch is smooth, but 58 fps or lower = screen jittering / lag, that is unplayable.

Power is at 70% in MSI afterburner vram is 900mb temp is 65c so card is not throttling or overheating. Just plain weird.

Using the 313.95 drivers . tried 306 drivers and 310's. all the same except these 313 drivers keep the fps at 60 or over 95% of the time.
