Hello.
I would like to gather some opinions on the following ryzens.

The purpose of the pc is gaming only. 3400x1440. 60 to 100 fps range.
The processors priced up something like £110 £160 and £300.

Now i imagine 3700x will last the longest. So wins there.
I think 3600x is well-balanced but price is creating up and 3300x is becoming more attractive.

I guess the downside is 3300x will be caped in few years.
So the question is:

is it worth throwing £300 for a long run or simply get 3300 and upgrade 3 or 4 years later when it gets capped on most of games.

I know consoles are coming with 8cores but im convinced they won't cap them processors for next 4 years. Im guessing it takes a long time to make industry wide changes and adapt new performance capabilities.

Any inputs are welcome.

What bothers me most is the price.
3600x is around 180£ +/- few pounds depends on were u shoping. now 3300X is about 120£ dependingwere u shop.

If u go and do some gaming benchmarks on them u see that both cpu's sailing thro with ease for time being.

Thats why im interesting in this. If 3300x can live for next 3 years then 3600x kind off loosing its argument.

The 3600/X have 6 cores 12 threads while the 3300X has 4 cores 8 threads.

While 12 threads might not give much of a performance jump in games right now it is more future proof than 8.

I would recommend the 3600 series.

Probably not what you'll want to here but I'd hangout for the 4700x, that's what I'm doing, as you say mainly for gaming the new consoles will be based on 8 core 16 threads same as the 4700x but that'll have a little extra to run other stuff in the background.

You don’t mention what you’re currently running, if you can hold out a few more months then there will be the Zen3 range to choose from. Or you may pickup a higher end CPU within the same price range you are looking at now.

I'm running Alianware m17 rx4 or something.

Planning to build full tower October/ November time.

Waiting for new gpu to show up. Faking things so expensive.

Wasn't aware of new CPU showing up this year.

Oh yes, but not sure how good of an idea it is.
Warranty wise. Just in case it goes puff.

From personal experience AMD are great with warranty. I always ask for the invoice from original purchase if I buy 2nd hand too... Might not strictly be allowed warranty wise but has never been an issue for me.
Again this is my personal experience and I'm happy to purchase 2nd hand on some components if there's enough of a saving over purchasing from a reputable supplier.

Interesting.
Can u give brief description of what the one needs to do if bought second hand cpu with invoice.
How u go about contacting amd?

Again I have to state this is from personal experience so don't take this as fact or how it will always happens. With AMD I contacted them about a suspected processor issue through the normal RMA channels, did some troubleshooting with customer support then sent it back and they provided a replacement. Oddly they didn't ask for an invoice, this was probably just a mistake but if they did I would have just provided one I had from the original purchaser. Again I don't think this is actually permitted but I have heard about manufacturers honouring date of manufacture if you can't supply an invoice.

Please don't take this as advice.
