3300x vs 3600x vs 3700x in price, performance, longevity, gaming.

I was thinking about this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-eclipse-p400-air-midi-tower-case-black-ca-09f-pt.html £65 get your own fans, or for £84 with fancy Unicorn Puke fans https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-eclipse-p400-air-midi-tower-drgb-case-black-ca-09g-pt.html

They are a new design optimized for airflow, mid tower, Phanteks are pretty good, i have an Enthoo Pro M, its the same case on the inside.

If that's still too big then maybe this for £60? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/silv...ming-case-black-tempered-glass-ca-44j-sv.html

The trouble with Mini cases is the space inside, the longest GPU's may not fit though that ^^^ one is fine upto 330mm which is a pretty big card, you can get bigger tho.

Edit: you would need a Micro ATX board for that, hang on....

For the Silverstone case you would need a Micro ATX board, like this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...am4-b550-micro-atx-motherboard-mb-35f-ms.html or this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...am4-b550-micro-atx-motherboard-mb-58u-gi.html

I'm so very tempted to go micro... I never have before. What's the catch?

Less space inside the case, however these days with M.2 storage and 2.5" mass storage SSD's, optical drives are a thing of the past... you don't need the space, unless you're building a rig with very large GPU's or large radiators.

I can't see a downside to smaller cases, but personally i still prefer mid towers as i do like the space you get in them, even if i don't need it i feel like the component's breath better with more space.

I'd historically agree with you, but... As I've got older, the children take up more space, and I have less. With working from home my desk is cramped. Halving the size of the box has nontrivial value!

For bonus points, what if I said I'd prefer to avoid tempered glass. Random impacts are a thing...

I'm starting to get stumped now, the Silverstone case is like a traditional tower case shrunk, so i know what i'm looking at, they all seem to have glass side panels, beyond that you can get these shoebox or cube cases that are often all metal, they have an internal layout that i'm not familiar with and sometimes require different sized PSU's or the layout can be awkward and difficult to get your components into, i would rather someone who has a lot of experience with these types of cases give you advice on them. i have reached the limits of my knowledge, sorry. Hopefully someone who understands these cases can chime in?

I'm starting to wonder if the 3300X will ever come back in stock anywhere. Places that once had expected due in dates have now no expected due date and some other companies no longer even list the part. Shame as it looked to be a great value CPU.
