This is getting stupid now, playing demo or game on disc it just seems to freeze up whenever it feels like it. The psu seems cool, so im sure that its not overheating.

Any ideas lads?

Take the 360 back to where you bought it.. under law the seller is the person you deal with.

The longer route is to phone Microsofts helpline.

Under law u need the receipt, long story but a mate who i no longer speak to has it.

under law, u do NOT need a reciept. they should be able to trace your order through credit card etc it just helps to make the process quicker if you have a reciept.

Id rather go through ms themselves tbh. Its weird how its suddenly freezing, its never done it before, ive had it since December.

I think mines on the way out :(

The fans keep spinning up faster so its obviously getting warm, problem is its doing it in the dash too which doesn't seem right :(

I'n game its noticably louder with the fans on full chat aswell as the normal drive noise.

This is EXACTLY what happened to my Xbox 360. I rang them up 2 days ago and they are going to have it picked up and either repaired or replaced. I just wrapped it up in plenty of bubble wrap (just the console, no HDD/cables/power supply or anything) and put it in a cardboard box. Just waiting for pickup now.
It would freeze when playing any game at any time, but it wasn't overheating at all.

So they come and pick it up?

I also rang ms on saturday and within an hour they had emailed me a UPS label. You then call UPS to arrange pickup but they collect from my office everyday so I took it into work. I tracked it myself and saw it delivered and also received an email acknowledging receipt.
It goes to a company called Teleplan in Havant. Hopefully it will be back by the end of next week.

Yes they tell you everything you need to know when you ring Xbox Support. They told me they are sending a sticker to attach to the box i put the Xbox 360 in, then i need to ring UPS and they pick it up. The intructions telling me what number to ring and everything will come with the UPS sticker.

I'm amazed, MS only received my 360 yesterday and I just got an email confirming a replacement has been shipped back to me today :D

You can't fault their service one bit, shame the hardware is not of quite the same quality.

Mine died today with no warning at all, apart the odd lockup now and again .....just 3 red sections in the ring of fire

thanks....just come off the phone to m$, very friendly service just hope the turnaround is quick as i'm moving house soon. On another note this console was from the shooting star place . I initially rang them and was given a load of spiel about anything over 28 days and your warranty lies with the manufacturer. I told them my statutory rights as a consumer meant that anything up to a year and the responisbility lay with them to give me a replacement console...suffice to say a line manager was called who just repeated the same nonsense.

While some may say the easiest way is to return to the seller, its not always or very rarely the case that this is correct, especially true if you ordered online

I had exactly the same problem with the shooting star place.

Walked 2 miles with the console in a back pack to local store, got told "We need all the boxing and cables to give you a replacement, Sir", 2 miles home... 42 Inch Plasma off wall to get to cables.... 2 miles back... "Sorry we can't replace it for you, we need to send it back to MS, Sir"... store manager said the same thing after a very heated discussion on his staff and why they'd wasted my morning telling me to go and get the cables/box for instore replacement when they weren't going to replace the item at all....

Took 2 weeks for the replacement via them, so I suggest anyone who got their 360 there give MS a call directly for a quicker service
