360 or ps3

Hi

In the mood for a console after getting bored of my ps2. So should i wait and get a ps3 or get a 360 now out of the memebrs market ?

Seems to be plenty of games on the members market too.

Opinions etc please. I have not played consoles in an age but fancy getting back into them now.

There's very much an anti-PS3 feeling around these parts, mainly due to its poor showing at E3 and the shocking price. XBox360 if you want to play now, or PS3 if you can wait probably more than 6 months and have a small fortune.
 
i'd say get a 360 just now, then wait till the chaos and mayhem settles down at the PS3 launch and get a PS3 maybe this time next year ;)

Agreed - a 360 will give you gaming goodness for a good long time, and then eventually buy a PS3 when it's got some essential titles (probably next spring time?). :)

Totally agree. If you can only afford one, get the 360 now and the PS3 later.
 
That's what I did - I bought an Xbox 360 now and then I'll get a PS3 when it's a sensible price and there's some quality games out for it. :)
 
I can't see any particular reason to wait for the PS3 other than brand loyalty and expectation of another cracking console.

I'd just get a 360 If I were you (and I did :p) there's little difference between them anyway and in the coming couple of months we're about to get a heap load of awesome games for the 360.
 
PS3: £400+, possibility of no pre-owned games, ages away
360: £210 (or £280 if you want a HDD), loads of cheap games around now, can go in to a shop and buy one tomorrow.
 
Microsofts customer support for the 360 is also outstanding from my experience in the week of having the console. :p

360 if you want one now,

360 if price is a concern or

wait until the PS3 is actually out there and people are playing it if neither of the above bother you, then make your mind up form peoples actual experience of the two.
 
I'd wait for a PS3 personally.

It truly is next gen.

For a start you can do real time weapon switching and also fight against giant enemy crabs. In order to kill them, you have to target the weak spots to inflict massive damage!

Lets not forget, theres Ridge Racer everyone!

I had this same dilema last week and ended up getting 360 and have no regrets whatsoever.

I saw PS3 E3 footage and was gobsmacked by Splinter Cell and the likes... they looked incredible. I couldn't wait for the PS3 until he announced the ridiculous price. I then started looking into the 360 and saw the graphics are equally impressive and you can have them now...

Hell PS3 demo'd NBA06 at E3 to 'show off' their console.. you can play the exact same game right now on X360 and it looks and plays just as well.
