you get Silver straight away, meaning u can have a friends list, download demos themes etc..

Gold costs £40 a year, this entitles you to actually play Live enabled games against other people.

Don't forget you get a month free of Gold membership out of the box

(Providing if you're buying it second hand the previous owner hasn't taken advantage of this, I got mine 2nd hand and he hadn't

Think you can create 4 accounts anyway to use the free month, so if he sets up his own gamertag etc.. he still gets it

Registered a 4th but not tried them online at the same time.

I've made about 5 or 6 Silver accounts, all with free months of Gold.

And Live isn't £40 if you go to *************, PGR2 pack is £25, and it's £20 in HMV with FIFA2005.

i am going to wait for the PS3, after seeing the demo's at E3 it does look more next gen than the X360.. I am going to be swallowing a very bitter pill mind ! paying their asking price...

For this very reason, i may sway over to the X360.... and perhaps a Wii as my 2nd console... I've held out so far on the X360, though i am tempted. But what i've seen running, admitally i've been v.disapointed.
