What tv would you guys recommend for consoles? How many Inch?

I'm looking at 32" to 37" as it is for my bedroom, don't fancy something too big.

Plasma or LCD?

And what brand do you guys usually go for?

NOTE: Do not recommend SONY.

Lcd for gaming personally, don't want to risk image retention.

I would reccomend the Samsung LE32/37M87BDX, 1080p tv with fantastic contrast, it accepts 1080p through all inputs and has 3x hdmi.

i dont know about rgb but both bd-roms and sd dvds play back in colour just fine using composite @ 576i. obviously it doesnt look to hot on a 40" panel but its in colour lol.

There are loads of people complaining about having a black and white picture with composite on an sdtv on the playstation forums, and green with rgb scart.

Panasonic Viera TH-37PX70PED 37" Plasma TV

Toshiba Regza 37C3030DB 37" LCD TV

I have been looking at this 2 now.

Whats the difference between the samsung, R7, N7 and the M8 you recommended?

This will probably be because an NTSC signal is being output.

I hooked my PS3 up to my old 32" SDTV to see the difference compared to HD (watching a BD film) and it was b&w until I switched the TV setting to NTSC. This was through an RGB scart.

R series is only 768p, n series and m are the same apart from cosmetics.

Hi, looking to get either one of them, anyone with both can tell me which ones better?
Xbox360, definitely.

Better control pad.
Better games catalogue.
Better online service.
Better media support.
Better price.

The top 2 are definitely the clinchers. The PS3 does have some better features, however none of those are important really as the controller and games (especially) are the key features for me.

Personally I think anyone who overlooks those 2 features is an idiot and I have no sympathy for their purchase of the wrong console.

Must admit, the PS3 hasn't been used for about a week.

Not sure what I should do with it, originally i was happy with the purchase at having being able to trade in my old 360 and get the PS but now its not being used. I have the three ''main'' games but there not getting used.

I hate having expensive things in my room that aren't touched, be it Laptops, Ipods and now the PS3, I usually sell them if unused.

Hmmm.

People keep saying they want a PS3 but not now, I can't see anything on the horizon for it in terms of games to make me truly want to keep it?

Think I'm going to sell the PS3, upgrade my TV to 42" or 50".

I will buy a PS3 later in the year when Home and more games are out, but I want a new TV now.

When I had an SDTV I used my PS2's RGB scart cable with my PS3 and I also had the green screen problem. In my instance it was easily fixed though - the graphics settings were still set to composite - just needed to change it to "AV Multi/SCART" and then it was fine.

It may be to do with the frequency. I believe BD films are 60hz. If your TV doesn't support 60hz, then it will likely display in black and white, just like when you do the 60hz test on older tv's for games like Black and PES.

On my SDTV, though, BD films display OK when 'NTSC 3.58' or 'Automatic' are chosen but they are black and white when 'NTSC 4.43' or 'PAL' are chosen.
