360 Update Today

There's three different settings now, and they deffinately change the black levels. Thing is I don't know if I can be bothered to get it all cal. again. The standard settings seem to look better than before anyway.

Just tried it on a samsung hdtv and using vga and setting the new mode to expanded the colours are much deeper looks more like component now.

Yep, same here. I used my old hotmail address to sign up on Live back when I had the first Xbox. I'm using a new one now for all my messenger contacts, but I can't change the email address on my Live profile

Sounds promising. All reports are colours are washed out on VGA on the Toshiba to the point you're better off with Component despite losing upscaling. Think I may just bite the bullet and grab a VGA cable as I'll be in town in half an hour.

Quick question though, I do use the 360 as my main DVD player and watch a lot of movies but how much difference is there between upscaled DVD and normal?

Does it not work if you manage your account online and go to billing and contact info, and change the e-mail address in there?

With VGA reference levels I now no longer need HDMI to get true blacks

I think I am now... I have no more little niggles with the system, top marks to MS.

The upscaled DVDs look supurb, there is a marked difference in quality and I recommend it.

Nope. Can't change the email address you signed up to Live with. Can change your contact email though, but that's no good for me

Update seems all good, not sure I like the MSN contacts being on my friends list, but you can hide them, deffo need a keyboard plugged in or that new controller if your going to use the MSN a lot though

I'll give it a try later if you want? I have same TV and VGA cable, but I don't use the VGA cable as the TV doesn't do 1:1 pixel mapping. Couldn't get it to run at 1360x768 without the picture justified to the left a few inches. Had to use 1280x1024 in widescreen if I wanted to use VGA. In the end I changed back to Component.

It's not a new controller is it? Though it was just an attachment for existsing pads?
