360 - Wifi ready, or is it?

It's 2.4GHz wireless, which is the same tech, well same family of tech, as wifi networking I believe. Somebody can correct me though.

sure i was knitpicking. It does use fast rf (all that kind of stuff is on the 2.4ghz band) but its not techincally 'wifi' as described under 802.11x. afaik.

You need to buy the offical Microsoft Wireless Adapter or connect a wireless access point to the console via ethernet.

GurJockStrap ... that is not correct as I have just discovered :(
I have just been on the phone to netgear and they say no can do, and I just spent £40 on this WAP :(

Apparently you need the wireless gaming adaptor which is £50 .... so much for saving money over the xbox one !

I can't belive this.....I got this stupid little sony PSP thingy thats works by wireless...
But by looking at this thread i got to go out and pay another £50 to make my xbox360 (which is in the post as i write this) wireless....And there me thinking microsoft xbox360 was desgined for xbox live and downloading demo's etc off the net.. :(

Am hoping i be able to just bung a network cable into the back of the xbox360 for now...

The 360 comes with a network cable, reasonably long too.
