Touch-sensitive buttons without some kind of feedback (haptic or audio) are iffy though, you never know whether it's detected it or not. It's like those awful buttons Samsung seem to insist on using on their TVs now.
In any case, it's just a quiet 'ding', I really don't see how people can find it so offensive.
Doesn't offend me personally, I like the noise it makes for powering on and the one that opens the disk tray sounds a bit like when the ninja cloaks in MGS.
