3870x2 3dmark06

does seem odd doesn't it.

Run the Crysis Benchmark @ 1280x1024 8x AA all high spec for me @ stock gpu clocks, will you?

on my 8800gt even applying 2x AA reduces crysis' framerate quite a bit, enough for it not to worth using.

I've seen a lot of pics for these new 3870x2 cards. I see they suck two power cables, and one of them looks to be 8-pin. Do you think if you only use 6-pin cables, it will disable overclocking like with the 2900xt?

It's not that great a score for what is essentially a pair of cards on one circuit board. With my quad at 3.6ghz and the 8800GT at 771/1890/1900 i get 15514 in 06. That's only 2k less. We all know that 3DMark means little anyway. It's games performance that counts. I presume these will need crossfire drivers to work properly? If so ATI will have to support new games a lot quicker than they have been otherwise these could end up slower than a single card.

how much though?

I just did a run with 8x AA at clocks similar to a stock 3870.......25fps isn't amazing but it certainly isn't a slideshow

Well I was in that place with the purple shirts and they had there "ultimate gaming" pc set up....quite the rip off....but to showcase it they had Crysis on a 8800GTX....silly thing is they had pumped 16xQ AA on, now that was a slideshow ;)
