3D Images without Glasses

OMG i've spent the past hours looking at hundred of these and my eyes really really hurt!!!

for anyone who's interested, this is the same method as the red green glasses, except they cause your brain to see the two differently coloured pictured layered ontop of each other seperately, rather than crossing them via your eyes.

I couldnt do it at first then I read what penski wrote and now I can! I probably look weird with my nose about 2" from the screen tho if anyone saw :D

I think thats pretty awesome!

Cant understand how it works when both pictures are very similar :)

Also i find it fair easy to do... didnt get it on my first few trys... but after that i did :) Just takes a wee sec to work with new images!

I find another way to do it is to close your eyes, cross them then open then relax them... job done

This is amazing, I am absolutely stunned. I kinda expected for them to be quite out of focus but they are just as sharp as a standard image.

As for the videos, there really should be a calibration image at the start. They really need to be in HD too.

Cant understand how it works when both pictures are very similar :)

Just think, the only reason you have depth perception is because both of your eyes have to zero in on one point. The images only need to be slightly apart and you get a true feeling of depth. What I really love is that they are not open to interpretation, this gives the shots such credibility because they add an accurate (if restricted) dimension. Stunning.

Here's a tip. Use the same cross eye method when doing a spot the difference competition. It's like you can actually feel the differences in the 2 images.

I did this for my A level art exam. Anyone can do it.

You just have to take two pictures about 2 inches apart where the camera is pointing directly forwards. They imitate the human eye, then present the photos side by side and on cross eye viewing they magically become 3D.

For the geeks among us, do you remember a game called Descent which is about 10 years old now. You could type something into the command line and it would do the same thing, render two images and when playing cross eyed the game would be in 3D. Cool eh :D
