for anyone who's interested, this is the same method as the red green glasses, except they cause your brain to see the two differently coloured pictured layered ontop of each other seperately, rather than crossing them via your eyes.
Just think, the only reason you have depth perception is because both of your eyes have to zero in on one point. The images only need to be slightly apart and you get a true feeling of depth. What I really love is that they are not open to interpretation, this gives the shots such credibility because they add an accurate (if restricted) dimension. Stunning.

I did this for my A level art exam. Anyone can do it.
You just have to take two pictures about 2 inches apart where the camera is pointing directly forwards. They imitate the human eye, then present the photos side by side and on cross eye viewing they magically become 3D.
For the geeks among us, do you remember a game called Descent which is about 10 years old now. You could type something into the command line and it would do the same thing, render two images and when playing cross eyed the game would be in 3D. Cool eh
