Yeah that's been my experience , never had an AMD card so can't speak for them but as i put above after probably a 1000 synthetic benchmarks on my 3090 i never once saw it artifact when vram was pushed to high ... what would happen is if i went for something like 1500Mhz on vram then OCP would kick in , get a black screen followed by a system reset... 4090 wont do this and will artifact instead of having ocp kick in.... hopefully GDDR7 doesn't have this issue ... possibly exclusive the the GDDR6X more info from 3DMARK : https://www.overclock.net/posts/29334419/The issue is limited to the 40 series or maybe just the 4090 due to the way its error correction works (or doesnt). Every other card, Amd/30 series will slow down when error correction kicks in so you get lower scores and no visual errors. Just a black screen and system reset when you've gone to far.
