Say what you may, @Gibbo went above and beyond what you see from anywhere else to try and give us forum members a chance at getting the cards they wanted.

I thought to create this thread not so people can talk smack about someone thinking it was cool to post to discord then flaunt it here, or someone thinking this or that of the price. I just wanted somewhere where a shed load of forum goers could come together and say "OI, dude, thanks. I got.my card".

It's been months since these releases dropped, and months since we could actually buy cards (many of us trying daily).

So, if you managed to 3D print yourself a card this week, let us know here! This was the very short list I was running earlier in some other thread:

1 - FoxEye
2 - David Watkins
3 - Odin
4 - RayRayFPS
5 - Gerard
6 - RallySlag
7 - Martin1991
8 - eeii
9 - SkillTim
10 - Vish Petrol
11 - djimty
12 - muziqaz

I'll start. Managed to pick up a 6800 reference card. Wanted a 3080FE or a 6800XT from the start.

Sold my 5700XT for a 6900XT. Couldn't handle the 1120 pseudo scalp so returned. Managed to snag a 3070FE at RRP, but even with the slight RRP mark-up to £599 on the 6800, am over the moon about my new card.

I know I can't quite OC it to 6800XT level, but I can diminish the gap and it will be enough for me to uninstall discord and close my case. Sigh of relief.

I'm lost, this has what to do with 3d printing?

It doesn't, no cards were printed ;P

It's good OC have tried to regain some faith among people here, it benefits them and us. Nice to see :)

Though i never picked up a card, am waiting for sub £400/300 availability be that budget card or second hand.

One of the many things Gibbo did to try and give us forum members a fighting chance (other than drop the cards.in various batches throughout the day and giving us all a heads up here), was having the cards go live in the 3D printer section of OCUK (as bots would have been written to scan the GPU sections of the website).

Did it work?

Well, I got my card.

:)

So you had a 3070 which you got for rrp then brought a 6800 which is only 10% faster while another forum member who was sitting on a poorer or no card likely missed out, now you can sell the fe for a huge mark up so no wonder you're pleased.

It was good to see forum members being looked after but those prices were ridiculous. I thought I over paid when I picked up mine for £560 but was glad just to be able to put it to bed and move on.

I managed to pick up a 6800 MBA.

I was at work at the time and dealing with the principal (I work in I.T in FE) I had to tell him "One second, this is really important I've been waiting all day" as I was refreshing my phone on the 6800 page and then it went live.

I wanted a 6800XT MBA but they never went live and I wasn't willing to pay for another other card.

Lol. Mate of mine bought my old 1060 when I got a 5700xt yonks ago.

He's getting a 3070FE for 469. He's happy, and you assume too much.

I managed to purchase a Saphire MBA 6800 and wife snagged a 6800xt red dragon before they sold out.. but have since cancelled the 6800xt red dragon card as wasn't enough thorough reviews on that card to warrant the price tag of £899+£9 delivery "you'd think delivery would be free on orders that big"

Decided the MBA 6800 will be a solid enough card given current performance and OC capability and at £609 delivered It seemed the more reasonable price.

Wanted a 6800XT MBA, by the time I realised they weren't coming the non XT had all gone.

Now desperately trying to cling to the idea that they will eventually be available again because I cant bring myself to spend 700+ for an AIB non XT :(

Yeah, others also misunderstood Gibbo's comments on the 6800 MBA. The 6800XT MBA had always been down as "sold out" also, whereas the 6800 had something like "soon available".

We know there are still some available as RayRayFPS returned his. Looks like the latest is that Wednesday Gibbo might pull the same trick again. Maybe 6800XT will go up then.

Thanks for pointing that out, wasn't aware but have now seen Gibbo's post in the other thread :)

If I don't get lucky then, I might have to cave and buy something over the odds, I can psychologically offset the cost difference by being able to use it now and stop hunting.... Might also mine it for a few weeks to help out

I turned down the opportunity to buy a 6800XT for £900 to £1000 :p

Don't care if I have to use my Vega 56 for the whole of 2021, I'm not buying at those prices.
