3D printed GPU

So you had a 3070 which you got for rrp then brought a 6800 which is only 10% faster while another forum member who was sitting on a poorer or no card likely missed out, now you can sell the fe for a huge mark up so no wonder you're pleased.

By the way, insofar as another forum member missing out: Gibbo did mention the 6800 MBA cards did not oversell and there were a few left over when he removed the item for purchase.

No idea how and when those are going to go up for sale, but if any forum member was interested in getting a 6800 MBA right there and then, they would've managed. Even they weren't there and then, they might still manage if they keep an eye out for updates from Gibbo

I doubt people want to pay £700+ for a £500 GPU though and if they did then they would have probably brought from scalpers already.

Either way unless Gibbo changes the location of the cards then no doubt the stock alert bots will jump on them next time any of the cheaper ones go live.

It was a 530 GPU going for 600, but yeah.
I think the MBA cards were up for a couple mins, max. I genuinely didn't see any when I refreshed the page. Only the AIB cards. (I saw the picture but no price - which is what happens for OOS cards, and what you'll see for most of the cards if you look now).

It's a £511 card going for £600, but that's the most reasonable offer you'll get atm :p

WHy doesnt someone 3d print a few 3090s. Sure people will want them on the big auction website, even if they know they are not actually GPUs

...

Those who order 6800 MBA, looks like your safe, Sapphire sold around 45 units and Powercolor around 30 units. What remains will now not be offered again on those as we will simply over sell and they will now be put aside for systems use as the SI department never got any 6800 MBA to use. Good work on those who bagged one! :)

Soz FoxEye, thought there was chance they might still go up again, but the stock has been moved for the pre-built computers.

Hum. My anti-scalp table's values are:
  • AMD Radeon RX 6800: £529.99
  • AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT: £599.99
  • AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT: £1099.99
Taken from here: https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/buying-advice/pc-components/buy-amd-radeon-rx-6000-series-uk-3798051/

I know that looking at AMD they come up listed at 508.87 for non-XT and 570.40 for XT, but I always thought that if you'd manage to bag one, taxes or shipping or this or that would take the numbers to those quoted at Tech Advisor.

I'm not bothered, after an XT in any case, for £600 or less.

Otherwise I stick with my Vega 56 this year.

I'm in no rush because I can't even buy a motherboard or PSU yet, they're OOS :p This is going to be the most drawn-out system build in history. Started last year with some DDR4 and an SSD :p PSU been back ordered since November.

Mobo, well nobody has any idea when it will be in stock. Yay. Whenever I get my hands on that I'll make a snap decision on the CPU to pair it with (5600 non-X might be out by then, who knows...)

It's actually quite funny. I have no idea when I'll be able to finish my build :p It's going to be a 6 month project, if not longer!

One of the many things Gibbo did to try and give us forum members a fighting chance (other than drop the cards.in various batches throughout the day and giving us all a heads up here), was having the cards go live in the 3D printer section of OCUK (as bots would have been written to scan the GPU sections of the website).

Did it work?

Well, I got my card.

:)
orderd one as well but before cut of at nine pm ..but no shipment yet.

It was good to see forum members being looked after but those prices were ridiculous. I thought I over paid when I picked up mine for £560 but was glad just to be able to put it to bed and move on.

Ridiculous was putting it mildly, flat out barrel bend over material. Better part of a grand for any 6800xt, prices far exceeding msrp to say the least.

well heres hoping.

I've set my mind to having the card by next Friday. If it arrives earlier, great. if it takes a bit longer, well, Gibbo did caveat that these would take a bit longer than usual.

No calling CS to bug them about this when them were the rules from the get go (well, at least thats what Gibbo politely requested)!

Bought a sapphire 6800xt overpriced but only opportunity I’ve had to purchase one and I’m not going to wait for the sake of £100-£150 I’ll spend that on takeaway in a couple of weeks build is now complete I can happily delete discord and stop following every single email trying to login ASAP to checkout

3070 shipped today, ordered on the mad friday or whenever it was. Even though paid the new covid/mining prices, was a fun day :) Shame I won't see it until May when I'm back in the UK. Hopefully the card works from the box.
