yeah i would say it was too, my psu has dual 12v rails both of which are 18amps and that runs my card just fine.

No way just got a sapphire x1950 pro am having major issues
with it i am not sure the 520hx is up to the job
this card needs 30a? well even though the corsair is 40a thats split up so
i am thinking this needs a 620 hx minimum getting black screens followed
by random restarts only thing thats new in pc is the card so it must be that.

no it really does not. an 8800gtx will pull 13-14amps at stock and thats IT. the 30a you think your card needs isnt just the card, its the whole system.

got a 8800gtx 640Mb points of view and it works seamlessly with my north-q 500w PSUs.

Also got a refund for the 1950x. Also sold the corsair PSU on fleeEbay.

So the long story is the card was indeed over heating and was faulty.

Now I'm happy gaming with the 8800GTX and getting 9700 in 3d Mark 2006

I would have probably have kept the Corsair PSU myself, and sold the NorthQ instead. Hope you got a good re-sale price on it.

lost £20 on the corsair but not too worried. I'm get a descent 10k+ in 3Dmark with a light over clock on both the GF card and motherboard
