So would a sapphire x1950pro be a good upgrade from a x850xt ?

Yes, would be huge boost in peformance, and id advise you get some new pants ready. :D

I went from an x800 XT PE to an x1800 XT 512mb, and was totally blown away, the increase in performance is incredible, and the x1950pro at that price is an absolute steal. :)

rippling do you have a picture of the x1950pro you have? im trying to work out if the stock x1900xt cooler will fit the x1950pro?

Well it depends heaily on what games you play.

If for example you only play CS:S or HL2 then the upgrade is pointless as the X850XT chews through it easily.

If however you play a much more varied level of games then the X1950 pro would be an excellent upgrade.

i doubt the x850xt "chews" through hl2 with hdr at a rez of 1600x1200 with 16xAF and 8xAA.

the x1950pro is the better card. or are you saying there is no difference between them

 Why take it to the extreme end of the scale?! I just said it could chew through it.

Judging from here (HL2)

http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/176/10/

The X850XT is still managing 69FPS at 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 8xAF.

I would call that chewing through the game perfectly fine.

Of course the X1950 pro is better (I never said it wasn't).

I was merely stating that if the only games played were sourced based apps then the X850XT is still more than capable.

I get 5039 with a x1900gt (256mb), is that any good ? It puts me at last on th orb thing but from reviews Ive read im a 1000 points up from what they benched my card at ?

If I'm coming from an x850xt (with dual slot, cooler etc) will the sapphire single slot 1950pro cause cooling problems ?
