So, who would be up for a change in the law which said everyone only had to do a 4 day week? It's not like much happens on Friday anyway. The only downside would be that we'd be worse off (if we weren't paid for Fridays, and I doubt companies would!).

Potentially, if you say, worked the standard 37 hour week, but did extra hours in the 4 days you were at work, you'd be paid the same.

4 day week would be great for me, 3.15 finish on a friday now but idealy i would work 3days x 12 hours . hopefully in afew years when im mortgage free part time or not at all.

I think a 3 day weekend would be pointless, but how about a break on a Wednesday? I think that would be pretty neat!
Yes, having a break on Wednesday would be a better idea, although it still has the potential to be a disadvantage rather than an advantage.

personally i'd have no problems with a 4 day week, even if it meant i had to work the same number of hours in a shorter time. I'd rather have longer weekends at the expense of less time in the evening.

Yeah, but at least on Friday you could get drunk Thursday night, Friday night, AND Saturday night without having to worry about pain at work the next day.

I'd have thought it would really depend upon the job you're doing, as some industries need you to be working those days etc.

Would be nice, though there's no reason why a 4 day week would give you less money if you worked the same hours :)

I worked 7:30 to 4:15 during my gap year placement, and had a 7:30 to 12:00 on a Friday. I would have stayed another hour Monday => Thursday if I got Friday off, but would really have been pointless, as I was usually home by 12:30 on a Friday, and I would have just spent the day in bed till mid-day anyway if it was a day off.

Nothing happens much on a friday because its the end of the working week for most. So, when thursday becomes the last working day of the week, will that become like a friday?
