Just after a few opinions on what to do at the moment and what i should be looking to get.

If you had £400 for a GPU this month what would you get? hope for something new in black friday? 7700xt or rx6800?

Or look out for a 2nd hand RTX 3080 or RX 6800XT? i think if a 7800XT was around £450 new i would want to stretch the budget..

I currently have a RTX3060 12GB but i game at 1440p so need a bit more power. would a 2nd hand 3070ti be an ok jump even though it has less vram at 1440p?

(£400 budget is me being tight and not wanting to go crazy on PC parts)

dont know the 2nd hand market but for new ones at 400 rx6800 is the winner IMO. Doubt you can get 7800xt for as low as 450 on black friday but who knows.. id take it even for 475, its at least 20% faster plus a new gen card

New: from a 3060 I'd really try and get a 4070 or 7800 XT. I understand not wanting to spend much, but a 3060 is still relatively recent and competitive with £200-£300 cards and since you're playing at 1440p, I think you're short changing yourself in the long-run if you go any lower.

could a 2nd hand 3070ti be an ok jump even though it has less vram at 1440p?
Don't get a card with less VRAM.

yeah i suppose i will be able to get back £180 - £200 from the 3060 afterwards... agree on the VRAM, dont want less than 12Gb ideally going forward.

£400 is a bit of a No Man's Land in regards to current pricing, but given that if I spotted a 6800 16GB at around that pricing then I'd be leaning towards it (unless a 7800XT dropped so much but I'm highly doubtful it shall). 6800 at around £350 would be fab!

I think this year will be a lot like last year, with very very few gfx card deals actually coming about.

Could you sell your card and add that money, or have you already added that money?

Ive got the 3080 and i game at 1440, i would like a little more power so if you could wait and save a bit more i would.
