4K Build

So trying something else tonight - want 5.1 sound with my PC so working on something in the sound forum on OCUK

Tried my PC hooked up to my LG OLED 4k TV - Indiana Jones looked amazing in 4k with recommended settings but DLSS and ray tracing. Was getting 30-40fps in low action areas with some light stuttering in action intense areas so suppose with similar settings and a 5070 TI or 5080, it would be nice and smooth and maybe even increase the settings.

Think I'll go with the AOC at least, then just decide on graphics card

Keep an eye out on 5080FE offerings (close to £800) as they're a fair chunk cheaper and very solid, same with 5090 if you really want to push the boat out.

The 5090 FE runs just fine and can be had for around £1800, built a 4K rig for a family members 50th earlier in the year and it's spot on + some undervolting to help with temps/boosting.

It is a premium/halo product but if gaming at 4K there's nothing better really, and that perf + VRAM should be good for 4-6 years.

I did spec a 5080 but the uplift from a 5070TI isn't enough to justify the roughly £300 price difference usually, whereas the 5090 is a huge jump in performance despite the silly costs.

I don’t think I can go 5090 that’ll be too extreme a jump in price

I’m edging a treat to a 5080 but still open to a 5070ti

I think you can still get FE5080's off and on for around £800-900, and given 5070ti's are north of £700 more often than not it makes things a lot more palatable if you can score a deal tbh.

Try setting up an alert for one, but with GPU prices rising don't wait around too long.

I bought a PHILIPS Evnia 32M2N8900-32 inch and love it, to start with I thought Ambiglow was annoying and a gimmick, once used to it the effect seems to enlarge the screen size, and now I couldn't do without it.
